Odonata Water Witch on tap at Pangaea Cafe. Pours deep brown with a reddish tinge. Lovely aroma of yeast, dark fruits and caramel. Flavor is on the sweeter side with strong notes of prunes, raisins, caramel malt and yeast, but the yeast is subdued. Damn good, and I want more! Some warming on the finish from the ABV.

Tap at Rubicon. Pours a dark reddish brown with a thick tan head. Aromas of caramel and sweet candy. Initial taste is fruity, almost like strawberry candy. Finishes with some white grape juice, oak, and alcohol. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Quite smooth. Overall, very good.

Draft. Rich brown beer with a nice dark cream colored head. Rich malt and light yeast aroma with light darker malts. Rich malt flavor with light caramel, dark fruits, light yeast, light spice, and a light sweetness. Medium-plus bodied. Rich malt and dark fruits linger with spice and a light wine acidity. Fruitier as you drink more. very nice.

10 oz sample on tap at Rubicon Brewing Co. Aroma is very floral - almost like a funeral parlor smell. I also detect some sweetness in there with some berry-like notes. This is a unique aroma, but is very quaffable. Very attractive transparent ruby-garnet body with a small head--likely secondary to bartender pour. Starts with more floral notes before this becomes very sweet, sugary, and sticky in the middle. It almost has some strawberry-like flavors present. Light roastiness later on. Virtually no bitterness or dryness, for that matter. Nearly cloyingly sweet, and definitely underattenuated. Decent, with plenty of potential. Just too sweet for me.

Draft @ Rubicon. Pours a deep, clear reddish-brown color; thin, light-tan head with patchy lacing; attractive color overall. Lots of caramel, cotton candy, and sweet brown sugar in the aroma; pleasantly sweet bubble gum esters are the dominant note here; attractively sweet, complex approach. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lots of residual sweetness here, and again loads of bubble gum esters, cola, and dense, oozing brown sugar; loads of sweetness here without being sticky or cloying; hidden alcohol; very generous, moderately soft edges, and quite lovely overall. Again, if the lingering sweetness could be toned down, this would be an improvement in my mind. Medium finish: brown sugar, lingering fruitiness, and nicely toasty.

Tap at the Rubicon. Pours a very dark ruby brown with an off-white smear. Aroma seems vinous. Full bodied; chewy; mildly foamy carbonation. Flavor: vinous; mildly red fruity; underlying oak. Very smooth. Malty, but not all that sweet. Turns rather mellow with time.
