Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Feb 20, 2007 Clean light amber colour with. Puffy off white head that dissappeared quick to a thin lace. Metalic grass aroma. Water with a slight acidic ting. Carbonated mouth feel. No real flavour other then water. I can drink this without much offense. (Rating #830) GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Nov 26, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear amber color with thin disappearing white head. Smelled like tap water. Tasted like tap water with some bark and fall leaves. Watery mouth feel. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Nov 20, 2006 Updated: Apr 7, 2008Not a terrible alternative to a too sweet soda, but not a good alternative to a beer. MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Nov 15, 2006 Bottle from loblaws- Pours transparent amber, and a short lived, off white head. Zero lace. The aromas are faint, and it smells like other NA beers. Pretty cardboard-ey, but perhaps due to the amber designation, they did use some decent malting here, which is detectable in the aroma. Caramel and toffee nuances as well. Flavour is bland, mild sweet malt with some paper/pepper/fillers. Spritzy finish, completely forgettable. But it’s the official NA beer of the PGA. lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA Aug 23, 2006 Pours a clear amber with a frothy ivory head. No lacing to speak of. Smell is...it’s got that Bud smell present in many of their beers, Not sure if I’m smelling rice or what. Very crisp smelling and woody (?). Not particularly pleasant.
The carbonation really masks alot of the flavor initially. Some malty, dark lager flavors. Lightly musty, almost smoky.
Thin and bland. Eh. cfranz (261), Acton, Massachusetts, USA Aug 16, 2006 When my wie was pregnant a few years ago, I drank mcuh near-beer in some sort of near-empathy. I drank a lot of this. I didn’t mind it then. Now, however, jeeesh. Lots o fnothing. bitbucket (2027), Kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 9, 2006 Bottled. Pours a clear light amber with a surprisingly lasting white head. The aroma is floral, but off slightly. Not exactly skunked, but not first rate either. The body is light with medium carbonation. The taste does have a bit of caramel, along with some fruit and corn. The lack of alcohol makes the taste a bit empty, but there’s also an almost metalic quality to it. The finish is prettly close to nothing. Seems OK given the constraints of the style.
