The brewers werent content with the first batch of Gaia. Batch 2.0 was made since 21/03/2014 (bottle date) and revamped with extra hop. This is the way the brewers intended the beer.

Oranje amber kleurig bier. Laffe schuimkraag die snel inzakt. Ruikt naar sinasappels en citroen. Smaakt erg lekker, bitter met een nasmaak van citrus. Bier is wel veels te duur. Voor die prijs is er beter verkrijgbaar.

Bottle at Gollem’s Proeflokaal. Hazy orangey amber, frothy head. Orange zest and piney nose. Intensely bitter, a lot of orange zesty hop bitterness, but also pine. Nice one.

Bottle, bottled on 21/3/2014.
Orange, hazy body, with a big, frothy, white head, that dissipates quickly.
Aroma of citrus, pine, orange, tangerine, some tropical fruits, some grass.
Taste is about the same, also biscuit and honey like malts.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation and it finishes medium bitter, slightly dry, with citrus, grass and some sweet malts.

Nice! Although it isn’t fresh anymore, still with nice, fruity and piney hop notes. The malt backbone is also quite tasty. Overall a decent, easy to drink and nicely balanced IPA, even after 7 months.

Bottle, sampled @ BBB 2014. Pours a hazy darker golden beer with a thin white head on top. Aroma has light citric tones, some grapefruits and a big malty base. Flavor is moderately bitter, a bit dusty mouthfeel and a bit thin bodied. A bit too sweet as well when swallowed. Not very impressed by this one to be honest.

Bottle (330 ml) @ Servaas Café. Bottled on 02-07-2014, so approximately 3 ˝ months old. Hazy amber/orange with a small off-white head and little lacing. Aroma is mostly of caramel and citrusy hops, but there’s also some spiciness and biscuity malt. Taste is also of caramel, citrus, light mineral notes, biscuity malt, light spices and light bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Dry finish. Nice lingering citrus presence. Too caramel forward for my liking, but not too heavy (especially for the abv) or bitterso it’s quite drinkable.

Sampled draft @ BAF 2014. Thank you! Hazy golden, very creamy head. Smell is very fruity, little zest. Very thick and creamy fruity hoppy, quite bitter, lots of peel, touch caramel. Creamy body; Nice brew, could be more it seems but this is very nice already as it is.
