Bottled@Kafé België, Utrecht. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, floral and some quite resiny and bready notes to it. Flavour is floral, some wooden, fruity and bitter notes. Quite dry as for the palate. Some yeasty and herbal notes come through along with the bitterness and floral notes that stick in the aftertaste.

33cl bottle. Hazy pale orange colour with a thin white head. Citrus, fruity, grassy, lightly spicy and yeasty aroma. Average carbonation and medium to light body. Taste is more bitter but fruity. Overall, not surprising but a nice beer.

Tap at InDeWildeman. Clear golden color, good off-white head, lace. Aroma has citrus, fruits and some kind of grainy notes. Light-bodied. Light citrus, pale maltyness, light hops in the finish. Easy. More like a Belgian blonde than Apa.

Alengrin (3401) - BELGIUM - JUN 21, 2015
American inspired quencher from an Amsterdam based, progressive brewery, but apparently brewed at Anders in Belgium. Thick and frothy, loudly crackling and densely lacing, cream white head over a misty, deep golden blonde beer with vivid sparkling, turning a cloudy peach blonde with deposit. Aroma of gooseberries, lemon peel, freshly cut nettles, chamomille, tulips, kiwi, lime juice, dough, damp cloth and white pepper. Crisp and refreshing taste, sour berries, green apple peel and unripe pineapple, very restrainedly sweetish, sharp minerally carbo;smooth mouthfeel with a light, somewhat grainy and fairly ’meagre’ maltiness, vaguely bready, with a very grassy, spicy and floral hop bitterness setting in early and gradually becoming stronger in the end, with drying and deeply bittering effect, a bit resinous even. Refreshing summer beer without great ambitions; more a Belgian-style ’bitter blond’ than a true APA, but quaffable enough, nowhere truly flawed and showing sufficient finesse, hop ’punch’ and balance.

Light yellow color beer with some sediments. Head is pretty big, frothy, white and lasting. Aroma is flowery and yeasty, with apple and grass notes combined with citrus. Flavor is well balanced, light sweet and bitter. Body is medium and carbonation too. Crispy dry end.
