Draught @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Rated on 23.2.2013.
Pours a cloudy, murky orange colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of strong and tangy citrus and strong spiciness. Flavour of strong floral hops, pepper, coriander, really strong citrus and caramel. Finish is sweet with lingering bitterness and sourness. A rather exceptional saison.

Unique. the only other place where I had something similar was at a great brewery in Singapore, so that is meant as a very good thing. The spices are there but nice and subtle. From a bottle from De Bierkoning.

You van taste the pepper! From tap @ Utrecht Huiskamer event in Hoog Caterijne. An IPA styled spiced beer? A bit experimental, but not bad at all...
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 altonbrownd (4209) - Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 27, 2012
Good looking out Sander & Rick! Hazy caramel body with puffed up head. Nose is sweet, citrus, spicy and peppery. Taste starts quite citrus-fueled, then gets peppery, sweet and ends bitter and sour. Creamy, medicinal texture. More citrus bursts in the finish. Enjoyable.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Borresteijn (3647) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 15, 2012
Last glass from tap at Beer Temple, thanks for letting me have this Sander! ABV 7% according to the bottle label he showed me. Hazy amber-brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of soft spices, mainly lemongrass, coreander, nice soft sweet malts, caramel. Flavour is again very smooth, soft spicy but evermore so, lemongrass, citrus, malty, soft caramel, light spicy bitter finish. Medium-bodied at best. Very elegant beer imo.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 PotjeBier (957) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 7, 2012
On tap @ Beer Temple (still the first batch brewed @ De Molen). Barman/Oedipus brewer Sander told me it was brewed with Sorachi Ace hops, lemongrass, szechuan pepper and other spices. Murky red-brown color. Uneven off-white head. Aroma’s: spices and herbs, anise, caramel, lightly acidic, medium bitter. Flavor is herbal spicy, lightly acidic, medium bitter. Body is medium. Finishes herbal spicy, dry, bitter. Some moderation on the spice side would be good.
