Drank with Thierry at brewpub De Moll in Eindhoven 10-4-2014. Dark, but hoppy taste. Tastes very comparable to Bred Dog’s Black Libertine Ale. Good beer.

(Bottle, In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 1 March 2014) Black colour with brief, frothy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, dark bread, a touch of liquorice and a dry finish with a generous roasty bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Well balanced and tasty stout. Nice one.

Pours dark with a small head. Has a lot of roast aroma, taste is similar as well. All chocolate, bitter and silky. Aftertaste is dry with a lot of roast flavours again. Very enjoyable stout.

Tap. Brown black with a lasting tan head. Smell the piney hops with the chocolate. This is going to be great or bad. It is actually neither. Chocolate caramel and pine with citrus works but the body is too thin. Watered down finish and lack of roast notes.

On tap at Cafe Gollem, Amsterdam on 23rd March 2014. Sepia to black with part-lacing tan foam. Rich malt and sweet berries aroma. Richly roasty and spicy in-mouth with citric notes and burnt coffee. Tart citrus in finish. Mouthfeel zingy with fair amount of body. Loved it!
