COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Panty we want to be a rich stout that is still an easy drinker. Roasted, caramelized and some rye malts enhance the body of this beer. Together with Cascade hops the flavours of Panty are mostly roasty, chocolately and licorice-like.

A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and bread, leading to a bitter finish.

Tap @ 2nd Dutch Craft Beer Festival. Looks quite dark but not cloudy with a small off head. Smell gives something roasted with licorice and dark chocolate. Taste gives the same roast with the same licorice and dark chocolate with a little bitter aftertaste. Overall, solid beer.

Oedipus, Amsterdam. Very creamy tan foam on lighter-than-pure-black. Pretty. Deep oaty stout aroma. Smooth, creamy body, big oatmeal stout, bitter chocolate and bitter coffee. Lacking something up front but a great big rush of rye harshness. I love the finish. Brash but weak first impression.

Bierfestival Groningen, 9.04.2016. Really black with a small beige head. Some roasted malt on the nose. Taste starts with smooth toasted malt, present licorice and coffie. Fruity sweetness, crisp, nice.

Small beige rim over brown-purplish lined black beer. Liquorice, old gymps, undergrowth, dried herbs, some smokiness and light roast. Dry roast, short impression as finish ia slightly sweet and rather empty. Again liquorice, sweeter warming up. The smokiness from the nose returns here as Lapsan Souchong, whilst the dried herbs more and more suggest mint. Medium bodied at best, if quite slick. Aftertaste is bitterish-roasted, and yet sweet - good balance. Light - but deceitfully enticing.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours black, thin off-white head. Aroma is coffee and roast. Taste follows, with quite a thin almost watery mouthfeel, more coffee and soy sauce. Bit too thin to be enjoyable. Not great.

Fairly medium brown but murky and a quickly fading tan head. Nose is peppery choc, loose coffee and soft bbq. Initial taste is a long chalky and gummy roasted bitterness. This tightens things up so quickly there’d little else to it. Carbonation is fairly sleek and mouthfeel is very chalky and gritty. Finishes soy and savoury, lingers long brassy roast. Alright but not one for skipping through.

Bottle, Appellation Wines, During The Martian.
