It’s the coffee and the malty sweetness that dominate the taste of this beer. Hops are well present, not too much though. The whole is a bit watery and the body is too light for the style.

Bottle on the train home during the Isle of Wight Jolly. Pours black-brown with a rich, tan froth. The nose has lots of roast, burnt wood and dry chocolate. Light to medium sweet flavor with notes of ash, earth, chocolate and burnt meat. Medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Nice and roasty on the finish with dry, chalky cocoa. Good balance and depth. Solid.
