A 4% abv Gose style beer, brewed with grapefruit zest, lime zest, and sea salt. Dry hopped with citra and amarillo hops. It’s extremely refreshing, citric, slightly sour with a nice salty bite. Check it out at your local waterhole. A little bit about the style: Gose is an old German brew that originated in Leipzig, its a light abv beer that is slightly acidic and salty. We are one of the first Dutch brewers to revive the style. Some of you might recognize the name, we brewed this beer last year for the launch of our friends of Dick Moby. Last year it was only a 50liter batch, now its bigger and here to stay! Batch#1: Gose inspired wheat beer sour mash, with salt, lime and grapefruit peel. Dryhopped with Mandarina Bavaria and Amarillo

Cloudy and golden in colour with almost no head. Sour and funky. The saltiness is pretty pronounced. Really great.

Bottle bought direct from the Brewer’s. Pours a pink grapefruit blonde with little foam. The aroma has hints of brett. Flavor is fresh with lemon and grapefruit. It is somewhat sour. There is a hint of salt. This is really refreshing beer. It would taste great on a summer day but works just as well in January. This is easily the best Oedipus beer that I have tried (and I’ve tried pretty much all of them).

Bottle. Pale blonde, cloudy. Lime and grapefruit in the aroma. Grapefruit and salt in the malty flavor. Soft grassy citric hops, especially notieable in the finish. Moderate sourness. Lovely.

Small sample from tap at In de Wildeman during Carinvale Brettanomyces 2014. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma has citrus, yellow fruits, some salt and a bit of tartness. Taste is very citrussy, a bit tart with a soft sourness and a little bit of salt. Medium body and carbo. Nice stuff.

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Pale yellow/straw color, cloudy. White head, quickly receding. Aroma’s: clearly citrus (-peel), resin, some grain. Retronasal I get sourness, citrus, some salt. Flavor is moderate sour with a touch of salt (but clearly noticeable). Light bodied. Decent carbonation. Finish is short, grainish. Very refreshing, but the salt remains a weird feature to me.

Weird stuff. Tastes like a blend of a gose and a fruity sour ale. All kinds of different ingredients battle for attention, but some get lost in the mix.

Tap @ In de Wildeman. Very hazy very pale yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste are quite fruity, lemon, citrus, lime. Only lightly sourish, maybe even a bit floral. Yeah this is more like it. Very nice light and easy drinkable refreshing beer. Like it.

Draft @ Wideman. Pours a murky pale golden beer without any head on top. Aroma is funky, sour, Bretty and fruity. Some mashed potatoes in there. Flavor is moderately sour, some fruity sweetness. Not much going on here to be honest, quite bland and boring actually.
