33cl, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2014, with galanga, lemon grass and chili peppers, from Melger’s Haarlem, complex brew, spicy/sweet and slightly fruity/floral/woody, yet not too heavy, balanced, cloudy, rocky head, good brew, ’No doubt my Thai wife will enjoy this as much as I enjoyed it!’

Light copper coloured beer, transparent, central bubble column and a weak head. Smell is coriander, chillie freshness, touch of fruitiness and some citriness. Taste is messy. Watery, bit of wood, but nothing very defined further. Some chillie hotness, drybgrass, hay. Interesting idea, but unfortunately, it stays on the lable.

(Draught at Café Gollem, Amsterdam, 22 Aug 2014) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, bread, coriander and tropical fruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of bread, tropical fruit, coriander, lemon grass and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Fresh, tasty and a bit spicy. Quite nice.

Hotel tasting with Colin Theydon Bois. Lightly hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Light malts, sweet. Sweet floralness. Sweet spices, traces of lime and coconut. Light finish, touch of spice. A sweet tripel with a subtle twist. Nice.

Very misty light golden body and stable head. Loads of orange aromas, grassy hops, belgian yeast, leathery too though. Quite unique, like I’ve only had from modern Belgian brewers. Bit too herbal spicy in the taste perhaps, although luckily it has enough sugars an hops to balance and especialyl the ending is very nice again. Would pair very well with Mediterranean foods, but I just enjoyed it on a Sunday afternoon. :) (33cl bottle from De Bierwinkel Leiden)

Bottle from the brewery under contruction, bottled 08/07/14, brewed @ Anders. 01/11/14. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a medium, white head. Aroma is a lot of lemon and grainy, pale malts, some spiciness, light whiff of sulphur maybe? Taste is also quite lemony with a whole lot of grainy pale malts. Rather sweet. Spiciness abounds in the middle and finish with lime, lemon grass, coriander. Medium with medium carbonation.

Bottle split with Kenny in the special surprise room tasting, Amsterdam Inntel pre Borefts livener, 25/09/14. Hazed light golden with a moderate off white covering that dissipates to edgework. Nose is spice, light floral notes, bitter orange, pineapple, light caramel. Taste comprises orange & pineapple squash, lime jus, spice, citric peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a little booze. Ok.

[9/28/14] Draught sample at Borefts After Festival 2014 in Rotterdam. Clear golden. Yeasty aroma with bread, fruits and a bit of spiciness. Sweetish flavor, yeasty, fruity and spicy. Medium-bodied.

A tripel with a Thai influence, what with all of the different spices. They’re not overpowering, thankfully; they’re just enough to distinguish it from the style without being a crazy experiment.

Sampled draft @ BAF 2014. Thank you! Light hazy golden, big creamy head. Lots of esters, bitter grass in the nose, bitter spices that I cannot identify. Taste is herbal, esters, grass, hay, same strange bitter spices in the back, bitter peel, not getting chili, malty. Creamy body. Good for the style but I am not really excited here & bit bland & the spices do not really work optimally I feel.
