Overall strong and clear aroma with noticeable alcohol presence and notes of lemon citrus, toasted sugar and cereal. Its head is white and creamy, it last longly and leaves a good lacing. The color is medium yellow with visible particles though the body is light and watery dry. Its flavor is initally acidic with sugar hints and an alcoholic aftertaste. The carbonation is soft and leaves a somewhat dusty feel in the finish.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2006 Pours a very hazy yellow beer with sediments and a huge white creamy head that lasts for long and leaves a good lacing. Aroma is strong for the style, with citric and alcoholic notes over the typical wheat aroma of Hefe-Weizen beers. Flavor is acid with some little sweet touches and a blur of alcohol in the finish. The texture is not especially dry, nor watery but a little thin and flat. The citric accent is more noticeable towards the end. Soft carbonation. A decent Hefe Weizen, easy to drink.

Bottled. Cloudy pale golden. Banana estery nose. Fruity, malty flavour with slight estery tone. Little buttery, don’t we love it. Pretty average still and thin-ish.

See dunkle rating and start subtracting points. Along with being rather lame it has some unsavory elements lurking in the flavor.(Has most all the character one would expect or hope to have in a hefeweizen while at the same time conveying only enough to be passable. Pretty lame.)

Canned. Orange clearly color, torbid and medium bubbly. Creamy and dense foam, good duration. Medium aroma of wheat and alcohol, light malty rumors. Acidulous taste with notes of banana, lemon and spices. Not much pungent. Short and enough extinct end.

500 ml bottle, bought in Germany. This beer is brewed in Oettinger’s brewery in Schwerin. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy (less hazy than many other hefes), large and fluffy white head. Aroma and flavour have some some of the traditional hefe characteristics (banana and cloves), but to a weaker degree, and there are also some soapy elements in the aroma. I tend to like nearly all hefeweissbiers, but this one definitely belongs in the lower end of the scale. Still drinkable and refreshing.
