A nice light wheat aroma, a hint of banana. Good yellow cloudy color. Flavor is just a little bit of banana and a little bit of clove, not too much of either and completely enjoyable. Unlike everyone else it semms, I truly enjoyed this hefe.

0.5L can, purchased in San Jose, CR. Pours a bright, hazy sunny-golden color; large, textured off-white head with great retention and lacing. Basic aroma of wheat and citrus; dry enough. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lots of citrus, creamy vanilla, wheat and banana esters throughout; very solid German hefe; lively acidity and crispness. Impressed by this, and surprised (and disappointed we didn’t start drinking this earlier on in the trip); great presence overall. Lengthy finish: citrus acidity, wheat, and toast.

Bottled. Faint haze with towering pocked foam. Big, ripe, fruity nose humming of banana, lemon, tropical fruit and unmalted barley. Just a sniff of fusty sourness as you drain the vase. Hints of woodsmoke, wisps of sediment. Firm fruitiness with an appetising dryness in the finish. Rounded, refreshing Hefe.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Allen (2670) - SWITZERLAND - APR 17, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2009 I bought this price at a very reasonable price. I wasn’ t expecting much although I’ve always liked Oettinger’s beers. They sell good beers at very low prices... And I like the company’ s image too. But I was certainly quite surprised when I sampled their Hefeweizen.
Canned. Anyway, the beer pours a beautiful hazy orange, quite high carbonation, big white head. Quite spicy aromas, banana, pineapple, very yeasty. Strong corn elments in the flavour, fairly sweet, pineapple again, spicy, some almonds? Medium-bodied. Very nice mouthfeel. Extremly refreshing. Definately a Hefeweizen I really enjoyed.

This was really a joy to have. Also lemony, but with a crisp taste to it. Very enjoyable. Again, random park sitting.
