(Bottle 50 cl) Oettinger seems to brew each and every German style you can possibly think of, so of course there also had to be a Schwarzbier. Almost pitch black, but not completely opaque. Tall and handsome beige head that leaves a lacework. Very aromatic with notes of licorice and not quite as dry as the typical Schwarzes. Actually this is surprisingly soft and a positive surprise from Oettinger. 050200

50 cl. bottle. Small head with not too good retention. Aroma of roasted malt and wet iron. Flavor lacks maltiness and is mostly roasted and bitter.

Light roasty nose, with some hoppyness. Dark brown to black body, small light tan head. Roasty flavor.

Bottle. Faint, roasted aroma. Dark brown colour with a small light brown head. The flavour is nice, very chocolaty, with a hint of acidity in the aftertaste.

dark brown beer with a good biege head. aroma: malt, fresh hops. taste: caramel, butterscotch( buttertaste?), maltsweetness, hopesters. palate: medium with good (fizzy) carbonation. finish is a bit short and a bit sweet. not bad at all!

(bottle) Dark brown colour with a medium foamy brown head. Shy nose of toasted malts. Sweet and bitter flavour with roasted malts turning dry and bitter with a hoppy background in the finish. A little light bodied, but anyway drinkable.

Bottle. Sour dough and burnt malt aroma. Very dark brown opaque color with decent head for a schwarz. Doughy chocolate malt flavor - slight hops and tannins. Not bad - a bit more bitterness than most schwarzbiers.

Dark color with a off white head. The taste is sweet with light chocolate notes and a nice malty palate. Rather good schwarzbier.

A red-brown beer with a nice light brown head. The aroma is lovely sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also some chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted bread, caramel, and straw, but the body is a little thin.

Bottle. Black colour with a hint of red. Big baige head. Light roasted malty aroma and taste. with some hops and chocolat sweetness. Medium body and a sweet finish.
