Bottle. Dark brown color that starts with a nice off-white head but fade away quickly and keep a thin lacing around the glass. Aroma is roasted malt but weak, hints of toffee. Flavor is pretty much the same with some light sweetness. Low carbonation and light bodied, quite watery.

Bier heeft een zwarte kleur met een volle schuimkraag. Smaakt iets naar roasted en koffie. Verder beetje waterig en mat van smaak.

500ml can bought at Park N’ Shop Superstore in Fanling.

Clear opaque Cola-black colour; Half finger head and beige foam which last for 1 minute; Minimal lacing and active carbonation; Aroma of light roasted malt caramel, toffee, light coffee, cream and light chocolate; Taste of roasty dark malt, light black coffee, toffee, chocolate, nuts, hint of citrus, and sharp hay; Light body, watery palate; Taste profile is light dose of roast malt, coffee and nut, with pretty strong toffee, all in a watery body with pretty sharp straw background; Hoppiness is no smell, very light in citrus taste, sharp straw / hay, and barely detectable bitterness. No finish; Barely dry after taste, very easy and strawy to mouth.

Comments: A macro Schwarz with pretty good creamy nose, and everything else stays true to the style - decent roastiness but otherwise light taste and low hoppiness. The lack of creamy palate makes its watery body even more naked. Other than that, this one is probably meant for enjoyable, simple-minded chugging, and in that regards, I have not much to complain.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of yeast with some notes of malt and hops. Bitter, slightly roasty flavour of malt with touches of coffee beans. Dryish aftertaste. Slightly watery mouthfeel. A decent schwarzbier.

No es mala. Sabor agrio ligero, un color negro atractivo. Me gusta sin volverme loco. Parecida a la Escudo pero un mejor paladar

Location: 500 ml bottle from mwmanvt, 1/22/13

Aroma: The nose is light and simple, with roast, caramel, toast, and just a hint of smoke
Appearance: Pours a dark brown-black color with a small off-white head that leaves drippy lace
Flavor: Tastes a little sweet, with malty flavors, and very light notes of bitterness and smoke
Palate: The body is rather light/watery, with a thin feel and a relatively short duration
Overall Impression:  Thanks Mike! I was not all that impressed by this one, but it isn’t bad. It is a drinkable beer with some OK flavors, but it came off a little lacking.

Quack-Duck (7944) - Down South, GERMANY - JAN 14, 2013
bottle. Clear deep brown, almost black colour, creamy beige head. Malty base with chocolate and coffee, shy hoppytouch in the finish. Un unexpected surprise, much better than expected.
