3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 beastiefan2k (1894) - Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA - JUL 13, 2007
Pretty damn nice hoppy beer, an extra from theisti. Pours orange-copper with a small head and cannot see through the beer. Aroma is orange-heavy citrus with grapefruit hops, nicely fresh with a slight oily hop aspect. Taste is better melded citrus flavors (cannot pinpoint one type of citrus fruit) with light sweet cereal-hoppiness (weird nothing like it before, or maybe just a well intergrated malt and hops profile). FInishes medium bitter with a long grapefruit skin aftertaste.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 corby112 (1862) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 9, 2009
Pours a golden orange/light amber color with a one finger frothy white head that quickly fades into a nice lasting ring and cap, leaving minimal lacing.
Nice floral citrus hop aroma with some dank piny resionus and a subtle caramel malt backbone.
Thin body, slightly watered down. Citrus hop flavor with with some pine but not as resinous as the aroma had me hoping for. Weak malt backbone that doesn’t provide much balance although it does have a slight biscuit flavor that is pretty nice. Slightly dry finish. Drinkable session beer but not something I would seek out again.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 SDbruboy (1857) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 1, 2007
12 oz. bottle courtesy of moejuck - thanks for this regional IPA! Pours hazy ruddy amber with a moderate creamy white head that leaves pleasant lace as it diminishes. Aroma of caramel and toasty malts, citrus and dusty floral hops. Flavor is hop dominant with more of the aforementioned citrus, lemon peel, dirty pine and dust, malts are definitely in the background, with a light toasty character evident, leading to an astringent finish - a little unbalanced for my tastes as I expected more malt sweetness in the taste, based on the aroma. Medium body and tingly carbonation.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 GAManiac (1852) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUN 20, 2008
Pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head that dissipates to wisps around the top and left a bit of lacing. Smell is a balance of sweet malts and citrus and pine. The hops are dominant but not overdone in the smell. The taste starts with a pop of bitter piney hops with some grapefruit which gives way to the malts before the hops leave a bit of bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel was medium with good carbonation and nice and sticky with pine resin. The drinkability is pretty high on this and it’s a decent example of an AIPA.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 tjthresh (1840) - Greenfield, Indiana, USA - JUN 4, 2006
UPDATED: JUN 5, 2007 Rating 400. Way did not live up to expectations. Poured amber with very little white head and left no lace. What little bit of aroma I was able to pick up seemed to be on the English side. Earthy hops. Mostly just piny hop flavor and average bitterness. Pretty fizzy to drink. Thin and astringent. Closer to a pale ale than anything.

12oz bottle courtesy of dakid618. Pours an attractive hazy dark caramel color with a one finger foamy white head that settles quickly but somewhat laces the glass. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of citrus, grapefruit, pine, caramel, honey, spice. Flavor is sweet and floral with stronger notes of citrus, grapefruit and hops with some hints of caramel, honey and spice. Generally light to medium body with a pleasing floral hop finish.

A very drinkable IPA. Frothy off-white head topped a deep amber body. Nice hop aroma, pine, grapefruit. Medium body with good carbonation and nice feel in the mouth. The flavor was refreshing citrus. On the oppressively hot day it was sampled, this was a real thirst quencher. Nice beer.

bottle, from trade with Strykzone. Aroma was Ok. I got a nice initial citrus aroma only to get overpowered by a cardboard, paper thing and sour grapefruit. Clean brownish orange color, ok head that faded quickly, no lace. Bitter flavor, grapefruit, little herbal, and cardboard. Medium body, lite creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish, Eh, this one didn;t come together for me. Aroma quickly went south after a nice initial scent. Flavor also suffered an odd combo of sweet and bitter. I’m guessing it was oxidized, made for a slow drink. Oh well....
