2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Solid black. Very thin tan head. Tastes like marble bread. Not much taste, but smooth for how dark and bready asit is. Would be amazing with smoke or oats.

Bottle. Pours nearly black with a small tan head. Bitter somewhat herbal nose. Pleasant toasted flavor, except for a hit of something like licorice in the end that was somewhat off-putting.

Sweet sorghum licorices smell. Pitch black thin head from bottle. Taste is a bitter sweet sorghum strong flavor. Thick body. Weird flavor if anyone likes molasses it would be an awesome beer.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep brown with a short tan head and lacing. The aroma is faint, with some malt and caramel and a small amount of coffee. The flavor is sweet, with caramel and coffee up front and a long, sweet aftertaste.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pours reddish dark brown with tan head. Smells of very lightly roasted malt. The taste is smooth and grainy, with a nutty finish. There is some fruit in it but all minimal, apple and a tangerine bitter with a seed and dry roasted nut twist in the finish. The carbonation is healthy but light enough it goes down quickly. I see moderate scores for this but I really enjoy this beer and look forward to it as a great seasonal brew. It really has a lot to offer in a low key way, no big pow of flavors, just a simple beer done very well.

Sampled at Great Taste ’11. A nutty, roasty black beer with firm bitterness. Went down quite easy but plenty of character here. Hope to find it again.

Excellent brew that should be year-around! Clear black color. Above average head. Very unique flavor is a bit spicy and sweet. Enough hops to provide balance.

Bottle - jet black with a medium brown head. Had a nice rich coffee flavor to it, medium body and an oily mouthfeel. Better than I expected.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The hemp seeds have a slightly sour taste on the back end. It’s a light and clean beer throughout, but was disappointing overall.

Black but somewhat transparent with red.Mild head.
Slightly sweet and bready, very slightly nutty and very faint esters for being a blegian yeast.
Taste is med/light bodied slight fruityness bitter sweet with very light chocolate/coffee notes faintly nutty with a good bittering and roasty.Pretty clean and tasty really. Balanced well and good sessionability. A good beer.
