A dark wheat beer that tastes like a chocolate covered cherry…only better! Voted Best Overall Beer at the 2004 Ninth Annual International Beer Fest in Springfield, MO. Available November 1.

Shared from a 12oz brown bottle into a tulip. It poured a clear medium brown color with weak tan foam. Aroma was just like liquor-soaked cherries and chocolate, or rather, as Drew pointed out: Tootsie Rolls to be precise. Flavor was the same. Not very beer-like but it was exactly what it claimed: a cherry and chocolate flavored malt beverage.Thin, light body and carbonation, strange sweet aftertaste. A total candy-beer, fur-fru for sure, but I’m gonna go on a limb here and say it worked.

12 oz bottle from Duke’s bar and restaurant in Homestead, PA. Very pleasant nose and aromas and a true clone of a chocolate covered cherry. Not everyone at my table liked it but I found it tasty and unique enough to probably order again.

Bottled. Poured amber with a short, swirly off-white head. The aroma was chocolate-covered cherries right out of the box.. I loved those things growing up, and this nose nailed it. The flavor found similar stuff, but without the depth and decadence of the candies.. chocolate wheat, vanilla, and a touch of burnt toast the core, with essence of black cherry laced throughout.. dry and grainy on the finish, with some decent chocolate-covered cherries going on. Light-medium bodied with low-moderate carbonation on the palate.. a hair too sweet, but otherwise a decent feel to it.. overall I have to say I enjoyed it.

Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with no lacing. Aroma is chocolate and cherry dominant with light cookie malt, and earthy hops. Flavor is chocolate and cherry dominant with a dry finish. Light body and carbonation.

Bottle pours red-brown with an off-white head. Aroma is just like the name, cherry and chocolate. Flavor is less than elegant, showing cherry pie filling and dusted cocoa. Overall body is light to moderate, and finishes slightly cloying.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2012 The name says it all chocolate cherry. You can smell both. You definately tast both. More of a dry unsweetened coco taste and I think it might be flavored with the same stuff they put in cherry coke. Much more carbonation that is typically present in craft beer. As far as chocolate beers, I’ve only had chocolate stouts but I I thought it was closer to a weak chocolate wine flavored with cherry.

The smell is very sweet - almost bourbon like. It pours a very dark copper with a ton of carbonation & little to no head. It leaves a thin white lacing. The taste is very similar to a tootsie roll up front & finishes like a cherry coke. Somewhat interesting but not my cup of tea.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Copper hued and hazy. This smells like chocolate covered cherries. A one trick pony but it is exactly what the name implies.

It poured a dark reddish/brown color with a small beige head. The aroma was similar to a cherry Dr. Pepper. The flavor was sweet with cherry and chocolate flavors, plus a touch of malt. The finish was artificial cherry sweetness that does not linger long.

12 oz bottle from Pepsican. Nose is definate cocoa-chocolate with plenty of cherry and lots of sweetness, like a cherry cordial. Lightly hazy copper with a medium beige head. Flavor is cocoa and cherry but not near as strong as the nose. Interesting take on a wheat beer.
