A dark wheat beer that tastes like a chocolate covered cherry…only better! Voted Best Overall Beer at the 2004 Ninth Annual International Beer Fest in Springfield, MO. Available November 1.

Pours chestnut brown with slight red highlights. Small head and little lacing. Smells like a cherry cordial, fake cherry flavor and waxy chocolate with some graininess. Taste is slightly tart at first then cocoa and faint fake cherry with a weird, grainy finish. Thin mouthfeel and over carbonated to the extent that it is prickly on the tongue. Flavors do not mesh well and taste artificial. Would not buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. weird one. clear amber with a small cream colored head. impressive ripe black cherry aroma with chocolate. smells like a chocolate cherry coke. flavor is really like a cherry coke with chocolate and caramel. very soda-like. its light and refreshing and easy to drink. i’m pretty sure there’s no alcohol in here. milk duds with black cherries. so odd, artificial, non-beer-like, but easy to drink, enticing, unique, crazy and just plain old good. awesome.

Pours with 1/2in head when straight into an Ale glass. Good aroma of cherry and chocolate, but not over-powering. Looks like a red ale. Head started to disappear after 5 minutes, almost gone after 10. Seems to taste better as it warms, never seems too hoppy nor too sweet; good balance. Mouth feel is thin, low fizz, maybe a hint of oiliness. Barely taste the cherries. Slight bitter finish as a result of the chocolate flavor.Still, quite refreshing for a winter beer and is almost light enough for year round drinking.

It smells like a chocolate covered cherry, and the chocolate taste prevails over the cherry (which leaves much to be desired). The color is a clear golden amber color with a frothy, white head. It hits the tongue slickly with a fizzy carbonation and finishes suddenly.

Bottle to pint. Looks solid; a transparent copperish-brown with thin off-white lacing. Smells and tastes solid too; cherries and chocolate. Good on the palate. I couldn’t have more than one, but it’s nice, and better that it’s score suggests.

Shared from a 12oz brown bottle into a tulip. It poured a clear medium brown color with weak tan foam. Aroma was just like liquor-soaked cherries and chocolate, or rather, as Drew pointed out: Tootsie Rolls to be precise. Flavor was the same. Not very beer-like but it was exactly what it claimed: a cherry and chocolate flavored malt beverage.Thin, light body and carbonation, strange sweet aftertaste. A total candy-beer, fur-fru for sure, but I’m gonna go on a limb here and say it worked.

12 oz bottle from Duke’s bar and restaurant in Homestead, PA. Very pleasant nose and aromas and a true clone of a chocolate covered cherry. Not everyone at my table liked it but I found it tasty and unique enough to probably order again.

Bottled. Poured amber with a short, swirly off-white head. The aroma was chocolate-covered cherries right out of the box.. I loved those things growing up, and this nose nailed it. The flavor found similar stuff, but without the depth and decadence of the candies.. chocolate wheat, vanilla, and a touch of burnt toast the core, with essence of black cherry laced throughout.. dry and grainy on the finish, with some decent chocolate-covered cherries going on. Light-medium bodied with low-moderate carbonation on the palate.. a hair too sweet, but otherwise a decent feel to it.. overall I have to say I enjoyed it.
