3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
aroma is upfront grains, fresh and clean, lightly salty and not immediately distinguishable as rye. nearly pilsner in its cleanliness. some lemon lurks and pushes forward at times. appearance is well hazed orange with fleeting head and near nil legs. flavor is excellent balance of previous pils like grainery now nearly canceled out by hops. in fact, the two seem to offset into what immediately approaches the palate is neutral. a moment after the sample hops reveal with standard citrus, devoid of tropics and malted grains still with a lack of rye spice. i would call this an excellent amber ale in the end. mouthfeel is a bit flat despite present carb, syrupy even when chilled.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Sample at Buckeye Beer Engine on 5/4/14. Aroma of menthol and malt. Malty flavor with cherry character before a hoppy finish. Some very odd things going on with this beer.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Spruce hops, very hoppy. Having made rye bread before I can taste the rye and dareisay that adds a rye/bread-y element. Aroma ok, amber really just a basic amber taste...

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours clear amber thin white lacing. Aroma of sweat bread, caramel, and toast. Taste is quite sweet. Medium body, smooth slick texture, bit of a funny butterscotch aftertaste from the combination of ingredients. Ok overall for something different.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This smelled great. Toffee and malts, very English. The flavor was a bit malty but the rye was noticeable in that this was difficult to pin down. Good

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Botttle. Pours a thin amber with almost no head. Aroma IS sweet malt. Taste IS the same. There is no rye or hops to speak of (IMHO). Nasty diacetyl up front. Never again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear amber with a thin cap of white head. The nose is very complex with an earthy spicy kinda herbalness and caratoffee. The taste is herbal and earthy with a sackcloth kinda tone and mild bitterness and mild toffee. Smooth semi-dry finish. A bit of piney resin but not much. Kinda amber malty tones mixed with "hemp" (not entirely sure what it smells like but I imagine like herbal grains) and piney hops.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I was surprised actually here by the drinkableness of this. Don't ask me much else cause it was also forgettable ... No peaks to stand out but a decent pick in a pinch...
