To finish out our night of the impy stouts tasting tonight, I pulled out a case of this OFallon Pumpkin beer that I got on clearance at my store for $10.99 a case (4 six pks.) Didn’t intend to rate originally, but they’re really still pretty good for being slightly out of date, and certainly not a disappointment even if they’d been full till. A very well balanced pumpkin spiced ale with a decently (and not over-aggressively) spiced nose with fairly creamy mouth-feel and an overall sessionable experience. I’d be more than happy to try again fresh next fall (and at full till) now that I’ve seen they have a very respectable spiced brew on their hands here!

12oz can pours a clear orange with some foamy, white head. Nose has pumpkin and spice, root veg, pie crust, brown sugar. Flavor is sweet, tons of pie, brown sugar, spice. Dry finish. Very good pumpkin beer.

From a bottle at the Nov 2015 RateBeer gathering. Pours a hazy copper with a scant head. Spicy nose. Falvors of cinnamon and clove with just a hint of pumpkin. Light bodied.

Pours a cloudy copper color. About one finger head. Slight lacing.

Aroma is like a candle. Artificial cloying pumpkin pie. Some spices, but less than many pumpkin offerings. It masks everything else.

Taste is the same. Artificial pumpkin pie. Pretty decent crust flavor. Its creamy and rich.

Mouthfeel is medium. Its creamy and thick. A lot like eating a pie. Only slight bitterness on the finish.

Overall this is okay. I guess I recommend it. I mean it tastes great, but artificial only takes you so far.

Bottle. Aroma is faint but good. Pumpkin spices, some sweet caramel malt, and light apple. Tastes pretty close to pumpkin pie but it’s pretty watery. Not bad overall.

The taste of this beer just doesn’t work. I couldn’t drink it, it went straight down the drain.

Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Lots of spice on the nose, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon and a bit of cardamom. Tastes more of the same with a sweet pumpkin pie character. Nice balance between malts and spice. Slightly medium bodied, but spice flavors are nice. Not bad at all.

Cloudy translucent orange brown. Quickly dissipating head. Relatively mild but pleasant aroma consisting of nutmeg, cinnamon, malt, and caramel. Thin bodied and smooth. Very unique pumpkin taste. Pumpkin pie is extremely prominent. Spices, malt, caramel and a wee bit of tartness as well. Lacking robustness, but quite good otherwise.
