I was really surprised by this overall. I enjoyed the mild and balanced bit of smoke on the front. Finished slightly dry. Decent body. Lighter in color. Its not a usual irish ale but it is unique and interesting.

Draft. Pours a dark copper with a reddis hue. Aroma of frains with a little caramel. Taste is light bitter. Pennies and medicated band-aid. Light bodied with a thin texture. Soft carbonation but not much of a finish. Overall, meg.

darker beer but not brown black. Malty aroma. Taste is somewhat ok at first but gets a little like mildly bitter medicine as the session continues. Finish is same but bitterness builds. little sizzling co2. intersting slag experience.

Pours a dark reddish color, aroma of toasted malts, with a decent malty flavor coming through, not to bad.

Bottle at Bigelos. A clear red pour with a small beige head. The aroma is quite malty with more gentle fruit. The flavor begins with bready malts and yeast. Hops are present but are in the background. They add light fruit, floral notes, and some character from bitterness. If there is peat it is
Iight. Caramel is nice. While I don’t really taste everything that is described, this is a nice beer. It is finishing more like an ESB.

It poured a dark brown/reddish color with an off-brown head. The aroma was of malts with some caramel. The taste was similar to the aroma, with a little more of a bitter balance. This was a very good Irish Ale.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mcrae19 (59) - - FEB 3, 2013
Pours a beautiful, clear, crimson; very little head; noticeable aroma of smoke. A slick mouthfeel and very pronounced smoked peat flavor, which I happen to like quite a bit, and the phenolic quality that often accompanies smoked peat. While this is not a typical Irish Red, it’s definitely one that stands out among the crowd of lackluster examples. Unique and enjoyable.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Majin (186) - West Des Moines, Iowa, USA - FEB 2, 2013
12 fl ounce bottle, poured amber, almost like a think honey color, does almost smell hospitalish... If such a thing, weird after taste.... Decent, not amazing.

Pours a clear deep amber with a medium antique lace head. Spicy peat-like aroma. Flavor is of sweet caramel malt, buttered bisquits, mild hop spiciness and a little smoke. Not particularly interesting, but a good session ale.
