COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Try this medium-bodied red ale, a malty brew with hints of caramel and toasted bread. Itís smooth and balanced, with a subtle earthy and spicy flavor and aroma from the hops and peated smoked malt. Itís the perfect beer to transition from the heavy dark beers of winter to the lighter more quaffable beers of summer. Grain: 2-Row, Munich 10L, Caramel 40L, Extra Special Malt, Caramel 20L, Peated Smoked Malt. Hops: Magnum, Tradition

Bottle at Bigelos. A clear red pour with a small beige head. The aroma is quite malty with more gentle fruit. The flavor begins with bready malts and yeast. Hops are present but are in the background. They add light fruit, floral notes, and some character from bitterness. If there is peat it is Iight. Caramel is nice. While I donít really taste everything that is described, this is a nice beer. It is finishing more like an ESB.

355ml twist off bottle. Amber/gold pour, foamy white head. Noticeable smoke and toast in the smell. The flavor continues this profile, slight smoke goes with some sweet malt tones and very light herbal hops. Suffers from weak body but otherwise nice. Certainly looks like they cleaned itup this year looking at old reviews.

Had with the bjcp group. Pours a clear amber with a thin off white head. Flavor had some caramel. Some smoke in the flavor. Just a little. Drinkable.

Bottle. Never had a bad beer from this brewery. Deep red color. Very light tan head. Smoky, caramel, toast aroma. Taste is a smoky flavor. Good stuff.

Bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a darker ruby with a beige head of foam. The aroma is peaty, musty, grassy. Taste is subdued bitterness. Medium bodied.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2013 Bottle. Clear amber pour. Absolutely god awful - smell isnít ridiculously bad, but it tastes like band aids. Disgusting.

Poured this Irish Red Ale from a 12 oz bottle into a snifter. Poured clear red-amber with a small tan head that soon reduces to a thin partial coat and left only small rings of lacing. Aroma: looks fine but has a pronounced smell of a Band-Aid; yes, plastic/rubber band-aid dominates, with some malts in the background. T: Unfortunately, the flavor is, at best, no better; the band-aid impression is even clear in tasting. O: Avoid!

Suitably red with a small white head. Nice hop/malt balance with a touch of smoke to liven up the proceedings.

Overall the body and flavor is sort of thin, but itís got a bit of caramel malts, some toffee and just a hint of earthiness. Unoffensive, but certainly not a big or bold Irish Red.

12oz bottle, from Party Town. Screw top bottle. Clear copper color, lots of bubbles on the side of the glass. Pours with a bubbly off-white head. Soon fades to minimal. Only a dot or two of lace sticks. Caramel malt, lightly spicy flavor. Light to medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation, not too hard to drink. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Solid Irish ale, better than expected. Good to wash a sandwich down with.

Peaty taste. Nothing too special about this one. At least I get to check MO off my list of states.
