3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mcrae19 (59) - - FEB 3, 2013
Pours a beautiful, clear, crimson; very little head; noticeable aroma of smoke. A slick mouthfeel and very pronounced smoked peat flavor, which I happen to like quite a bit, and the phenolic quality that often accompanies smoked peat. While this is not a typical Irish Red, it’s definitely one that stands out among the crowd of lackluster examples. Unique and enjoyable.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Finhead (921) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - JAN 28, 2013
Clear, brownish-red pour with an off-white head. Caramel is dominant in the aroma, but there is a mild woodiness. It has a light yet creamy texture with average carbonation. The taste is sweet, but finishes dry and a little smokey.

It poured a dark brown/reddish color with an off-brown head. The aroma was of malts with some caramel. The taste was similar to the aroma, with a little more of a bitter balance. This was a very good Irish Ale.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bjshades (114) - Iowa, USA - FEB 7, 2013

Bottle at Bigelos. A clear red pour with a small beige head. The aroma is quite malty with more gentle fruit. The flavor begins with bready malts and yeast. Hops are present but are in the background. They add light fruit, floral notes, and some character from bitterness. If there is peat it is
Iight. Caramel is nice. While I don’t really taste everything that is described, this is a nice beer. It is finishing more like an ESB.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 heemer77 (5016) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JAN 25, 2013
Bottle. A deep red body is topped with a thin bright white head. Caramel and apples are in the nose. There is also some dry fall leaves. This tastes like highly toasted black tea and toffee. There is also some almond in the nutty finish. A highly carbonated body makes this a little hard to drink quickly. A decent beer.

(sample at Wolpertinger 2013) red with peat aroma. Flavor is peat, smoke, red malt.

Pour is a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is deffinatly some peat smoke with some caramel malt. Flavor is a nice but mild peat smoke with some earthy malt. FInish has some maple syrup sweetness, A decent beer but probably not one for the masses as you can almost classify this as a smoked beer.

Pours a clear deep amber with a medium antique lace head. Spicy peat-like aroma. Flavor is of sweet caramel malt, buttered bisquits, mild hop spiciness and a little smoke. Not particularly interesting, but a good session ale.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 CanIHave4Beers (2512) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Pours a red color with a small well retained white head.
The aroma is husky grain, some chocolate, and some light fruity notes.
The flavor is a nice balance of roasty, lightly chocolaty, and toffee malt. There are some odd elements, the red apple skin is a little brash, and the light smokiness doesn’t really bring anything appealing to the overall flavor. But this is a perfectly nice beer all in all.
