Found this on cask as Iron Barley in St. Louis. Pulled a very deep, dense black color with a big, soapy bubbly, tan head that lasted for most of the sampling. Aroma has a very strong hoppy nose - Chinook or centennial type of piny hoppy nose, very light citrus presence, a very hefty leafy bitterness in the background with some malty chocolate and black malt in the background lending to a mild roasted nose. Flavor matches the nose with a very strong piny presence early, lots of bitterness in the middle to follow with a light chocolate and modest dry black malt bitter malt bite. A moderate to heavy body with higher than average carbonation for a cask pull but both really add to the character and enjoyability of this brew. Overall the hoppiness for this brew pares perfectly with the deep black bitter malt note. Hops really rules and the dry hopping of the cask makes this nose so full that its hard to forget. I hope the bottle version is just as good as this cask. Fantastic brew and on you should try out on cask if you ever see it.

Dark brown pour w/ hints of red and a huge thick tan well lacing head. Sweet syrupy aroma roasty malts lightly bitter coffee a little dry hopps. Full well coated & creamy pal. Sticky syruppy overly sweet and oddly bitter. Oh and apparently the girl pouring this at GABF had a great ass, much better than this beer.

On tap at GTMW. Poured deep brown with a huge beige head. The aroma was sweet and toasty with molasses and black patent leading.. very smooth, but unnecessarily restrained. The flavor found toasty black patent, vanilla, and molasses at the core.. tangy cocoa bitterness and alcohol warmth rode out the edges.. not exciting by any means, but it played well. Medium-plus bodied with high-ish carbonation on the palate.. tangy and warm finish.. just OK flow. I’d love to give this another shot if they bottle some.

Draught at Sycamore in Columbia. Very nice aroma. Creamy. Chocolate taste. Some vanilla. Very tasty. But the body is too thin for an RIS. Otherwise, great first shot at high ABV for O’Fallon. Looking forward to more of these types of beers.
