Dark brown, clear, with red tints and a khaki ring. Lot’s of smoke in the nose, a touch of roast. Medium-bodied, significant carbonation and a lingering finish. Malty with caramel and chocolate and finishing dry and smokey. Not my favorite style, though clearly well-brewed.

12oz bottle - pours dark brown with khaki head and thin head. Nose is smoke and roasted malts. Flavor adds wood, caramel and borderline brown sugar. Sweet with light bitterness. Dry finish. Light to medium body. Usually overlook beers from O’Fallon but this one is nice.

Bottle. Pours brown with tan head. Aroma of light smoke and chocolate. Flavor is smokey, notes of chocolate and hints of coffee. Medium mouthfeel, slightly thin, with high carboation. Good stuff!

Pours an opaque black with a full head of tan foam, mostly lasting. Aroma is smoked chocolate. Very creamy on the palate, the taste is of dark roasted malt, with coffee and chocolate, and an overlaid smoky flavor. Slight hops note on finish helps beer to finish slightly dry. An excellent smoked porter that pairs nicely with smoked salmon.

12 oz bottle older bottle with campfire smoke on label Stevens Point WI, pours dark brown and black with small brown tan head, smell of smoke and barbecue, taste of smoke malts brown sugar and small taste of barbecue, medium bodied and very smooth, I like it.

Brown pour small tan head. Heavy roast aroma some smoked salmon notes touch of campfire. Avg palate. Smoked meat flavor but not overpowering lightly bitter in the finish. Not a has smoked.

Very dark brown with tan head...
Aroma of light smoke, coffee...mild chocolate.
Taste is basic smoke, not really meaty.
Very smooth, balanced and tasty paired with a mushroom cheeseburger...
the warmer it got, the better it was.
A very pleasant beer.

Bottle from Cardinal Wine in Niles. Pours reddish brown with a bit of an off white head. Aroma has smoked meat and grapes, some caramel. Taste is of chocolate, smoked meat and subtle nuttiness with fruit. Finishes dry and slightly salty. A decent drinker but nothing porter-ish about it.

A: The aroma is truly heavenly. The first thing that I immediately notice is that there is superb balance between all the elements. The smoke is present, however, there is also a heavy emphasis on chocolate and perhaps a little coffee as well.
A: Pours very close to black, however, when put to the light ruby highlights can be seen. There is a very fleeting head and no lacing to be seen.
T: Smoke, dark chocolate, some roasted barley, perhaps some meat, and a modest bitterness towards the finish. Nothing incredible, just a solid beer.
O: As I mentioned before, this beer doesn’t offer anything over the top but it does offer a good example of what precise and methodical brewing can accomplish--well done.
P: Medium bodied with a chewey mouthfeel and just enough carbonation to cleanse the palate.

Bottle. Meaty smoke, chocolate and coffee malt aroma. Dark brown with a small tan head. Moderate smoke, chocolate/coffee malt and light acidic flavor. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation. Smokiness is well balanced and not overpowering. Very nice.
