COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For Apex Predator Farmhouse Ale, we pitch the yeast cold, turn off the temperature control, and let the yeast do it’s thing. To our delight, it spat out the sweet scent of juicy fruit wafting from a frothy, white mane. Brewed only with grain and sugar unencumbered by the heat of the kiln, we create a hazy, golden body. Apex Predator gets its teeth from a generous Crystal dry-hopping that completes the dry finish with a fruity bite. Pounce on the opportunity to let it part your lips and you may find yourself at the top of the food chain.

12oz bottle from Binny’s Lakeview. Pours a hazy, yellow-orange color with a white head and some lacing. Aroma is grassy, pineapple, some sweet bready malt, maybe a touch of clove. Medium on the palate with soft carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, bread, a little nutty, some yeasty spice, clove, bubblegum, a little grainy sweetness, just a touch of grassy hop bitterness, with a clean, light, clove finish.

Tang and tn body with a flimsy head. Nose is sharply citric, orange and some cat urine. Upon aeration, grapefruit begins to dominate. Strong grapefruit flavor with a spritz of cattiness and a wheat underpinning. Though this one grew on me a bit, it is quite acerbic.

On tap at Howells & Hood. Pour is hazy golden with a big white head and sticky lacing. Musty, coriander, grassy, white pepper, some dough, citrusy, and zippy aroma. Taste is lemon peel, phenolic, white pepper, musty, doughy, herbs, some basil, and citrusy with a spicy bite on the backend. Full mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Solid, crushable saison.

Draft at Eulogy. Cloudy gold pour with plenty of soft white foam on top. Lace. Lemony, grassy, herbal and somewhat sour. Lemon curd buns. Greek yogurt. Unripe banana peels. Pineapple cores. Mango skins. Honey. Parsley. Spring onions. Orange pips. Juicy, pithy and fuzzy. Mildly doughy/bready. Brett strain adds a modest sour funk. Nice.

Nicely hazy golden coloured body with a straw coloured glow and a nice, two centimetre tall pure white microfoamed head. Aroma of grassy, hay, belgian yeast, coriander seed, curcao, lemons and quite a bit of honey. Light to Medium-bodied; Slight funk up front showing brett, or so it seems, that fades to a very pleasant yeast and wheat kick and actually a noticeable amount of alcohol. Aftertaste borders on the grassy and honey flavours more than anything else with an odd finishing taste of malt and a straw/herbal/cardboardie finish that doesn’t make the beer as complex on the end. Overall, still a nice and rewarding beer throughout, from the look to the smell and of course the taste, but the aftertaste leaves a bit to be desired - that said, still a beer worth trying, especially in summer/warm months, if you can find this! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Portland, Oregaon (Pearl) on 04-May-2015 for US$2,99 sampled at home on the other end of the country in Washington on 28-May-2015.

Bottle shared poured a hazy yellow color with nice white head that first hang around to long. Aroma is yeasty lemony mild gunk and delicious. The flavor is more of the same nice light funky citrus blend with yeasties. Very delicious.
