3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Dark sweet chocolate, dark nice rich malts. Deep jet brown with a rich light brown head. Sweet, chocolaty and a long nice sweetness. Chocolate dessert sweetness, maybe too sweet?

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle, courtesy of lupulist (thanks Mark), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out vanilla beans, some chocolate, marshmallow, and cocoa nibs. Flavour is lovely, with notes of vanilla beans upfront, followed by chocolate, and marshmallow. Very well-balanced and certainly not too sweet. Very nice stuff.

Have noticed big variations from batch to batch, but a solid brew overall. On the thin side for the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Pours pitch black with small quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is lots of chocolate and vanilla, coffee. Flavor is chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and when it warms up a bit, some Graham cracker comes through. Also, maybe some hint of spice? Really good. The extra ingredients come through really nicely. It?s not the best imperial stout but the additives make it way better. I like this one a lot. It?s 10.5% but super drinkable. Not boozy at all.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is black (virtually opaque, flashlight tested).
Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate syrup, caramel, roasted grain), with notes of vanilla, alcohol (slightly fusel; acetone).
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, syrupy/watery/oily texture, soft carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic.
A fairly disappointing brew...the nose is dominated by chocolate and vanilla, with sugary caramel being the only other major note (and there seems to be a small bit of higher alcohol present as well). Hard to drink; syrupy-oily mouthfeel with a lot of alcohol burn and not nearly enough bitterness to counteract the massive sweetness. No major flaws but pretty sloppy.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Smokey, chocolate, marshmallow, vanilla nose. Sipping reveals the graham cracker and a rich, dry roastyness. Really complex and stops short of being heavy handed.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled from the tap at Happy Gnome. Pours a black with a creamy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark chocolate with light roasted malts with a bit of caramel and vanilla underlying. Flavor combines toffee and chocolate with some vanilla and a dark grain backbone.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 5, 2015 Great as an imperial stout. Was surprised that it didn?t have a slightly sweet aftertaste for the smores flavor stated. The graham was noted, missing marshmallows, But the vanilla and deep cocoa were apparent. Bottle
