Bottle from marias packaged goods in Chicago, black pour with no head, tons of flavor of caramel, chocolate, marshmellow, love it

Bottled. Pours pitch black with small quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is lots of chocolate and vanilla, coffee. Flavor is chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and when it warms up a bit, some Graham cracker comes through. Also, maybe some hint of spice? Really good. The extra ingredients come through really nicely. It?s not the best imperial stout but the additives make it way better. I like this one a lot. It?s 10.5% but super drinkable. Not boozy at all.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is black (virtually opaque, flashlight tested). Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate syrup, caramel, roasted grain), with notes of vanilla, alcohol (slightly fusel; acetone). Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy/watery/oily texture, soft carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic. A fairly disappointing brew...the nose is dominated by chocolate and vanilla, with sugary caramel being the only other major note (and there seems to be a small bit of higher alcohol present as well). Hard to drink; syrupy-oily mouthfeel with a lot of alcohol burn and not nearly enough bitterness to counteract the massive sweetness. No major flaws but pretty sloppy.

Smokey, chocolate, marshmallow, vanilla nose. Sipping reveals the graham cracker and a rich, dry roastyness. Really complex and stops short of being heavy handed.

On tap at Party Source in Cincy/Kentucky. Brief note: sweet chocolate, vanilla, toffee, coffee, cracker. Interesting one time sipper.

Sampled from the tap at Happy Gnome. Pours a black with a creamy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark chocolate with light roasted malts with a bit of caramel and vanilla underlying. Flavor combines toffee and chocolate with some vanilla and a dark grain backbone.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2015 Great as an imperial stout. Was surprised that it didn?t have a slightly sweet aftertaste for the smores flavor stated. The graham was noted, missing marshmallows, But the vanilla and deep cocoa were apparent. Bottle

Some graham cracker, some vanilla and marshmallow. A lot of roast, but the elements don’t come together super well here. Tastes somewhat like burnt smores but doesn’t quite work for a stout. Pours dark brown without much head or lacing.

Tap at Velo Cult. This is one of the best names for a beer ever,. A: Pure black, cappuccino head. N: Big cocoa, coffee, char, some graham cracker and marshmallow, sugar, and some woodiness. T: Very sweet, but able to rein the cloying elements. M: Oily, medium-heavy body, soft carbonation, alcohol is hidden. O: Lots of similarities with the Base Camp S’more Stout, but I think I would take this one over the other.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot leaving spot lacing. Chocolate and vanilla aromas. Sweet vanilla and marshmallow upfront turning to mild cocoa in the lasting finish. I’d certainly call this a marshmallow stout... yummy
