Bottle shared in London - picked up at New Beer Distributors. Pours deep black-brown with a frothy beige head. The nose holds lots of sugary dark malts, burnt marshmallows, raisins, dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with bitter scorched earth, charcoal, baking cocoa, dried berries. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, a little sticky, with charred dark sugars, oily chocolate, earth. Not bad overall.

Bottle from marias packaged goods in Chicago, black pour with no head, tons of flavor of caramel, chocolate, marshmellow, love it

Bottled. Pours pitch black with small quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is lots of chocolate and vanilla, coffee. Flavor is chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and when it warms up a bit, some Graham cracker comes through. Also, maybe some hint of spice? Really good. The extra ingredients come through really nicely. It?s not the best imperial stout but the additives make it way better. I like this one a lot. It?s 10.5% but super drinkable. Not boozy at all.

Ernest (6729) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 22, 2015
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is black (virtually opaque, flashlight tested). Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate syrup, caramel, roasted grain), with notes of vanilla, alcohol (slightly fusel; acetone). Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy/watery/oily texture, soft carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic. A fairly disappointing brew...the nose is dominated by chocolate and vanilla, with sugary caramel being the only other major note (and there seems to be a small bit of higher alcohol present as well). Hard to drink; syrupy-oily mouthfeel with a lot of alcohol burn and not nearly enough bitterness to counteract the massive sweetness. No major flaws but pretty sloppy.

Bottle - Dark sweet chocolate, dark nice rich malts. Deep jet brown with a rich light brown head. Sweet, chocolaty and a long nice sweetness. Chocolate dessert sweetness, maybe too sweet?

Smokey, chocolate, marshmallow, vanilla nose. Sipping reveals the graham cracker and a rich, dry roastyness. Really complex and stops short of being heavy handed.

Poured from bottle to glass. Dark hue with creamy brown head that settled. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, caramel, toffee, cola, coffee. Mouthfeel is great with a full body and crisp carbonation. Taste is bittersweet with a slightly burnt finish. Overall this is a really nice brew.

Have noticed big variations from batch to batch, but a solid brew overall. On the thin side for the style.

Love this imperial stout. Marshmallow sweet and very soft to the pallet. You can also really taste the chocolate and coffee in this one. Home run. Had at home ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle, courtesy of lupulist (thanks Mark), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out vanilla beans, some chocolate, marshmallow, and cocoa nibs. Flavour is lovely, with notes of vanilla beans upfront, followed by chocolate, and marshmallow. Very well-balanced and certainly not too sweet. Very nice stuff.
