3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Jerry’s in Wicker Park. The beer is super straw pale, clear as a macro beer. Has a thick foamy head with a lacing that coats the side of the glass as it fades. Aroma is cleaned up sharp, but light, pear esters. Everything else is dulled down, or not there. Just a bit of Belgian sweetness. Flavor is same with a bit of a dry, sandpaper feel to the green, unripe pear esters. A mineral tingle all around with a slightly bittered wort finish. Basically a vehicle for light pear esters. I was hoping for something more.

Straw with 1 finger white head. Aroma is sweet yeasty and fruity. Somewhat dry with a lot of fruit. Interesting beer.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Jerry’s. Pale yellow-gold with nice, frothy, white head, fine lacing / Nose of banana, citrus, grain, straw, spice, cream / Medium body, somewhat sour, very watery, otherwise good balance with bitter, spicy finish / Flavors of banana, lemon, straw, grain spice / Big body flaw kills this one. Has potential, though.
