A Belgian Strong Half-Quad made with a ridiculous amount of oats, unrefined Belgian candy syrup and fermented with yeast stolen from the clutches of deepest, darkest ostrich pit of Oostvleteren. Brewed especially for either Three Floyds and Friends week or Belgium’s Kattenstoet, “Festival of Cats.” It really depends on who you ask.

Very dark brown with this tan head. I had it on tap, it was pretty cold and I didn’t get much aroma. Taste mainly stout/porter like with roast and oats, slight dark fruits. Finish mild roast. I didn’t get a sense of Belgian yeast here. Palate porter-like.

Not bad but not what you’d expect from the description. Seemed like a roasty oatmeal porter.

On tap at El Bait Shop. Pours black with thick, fizzy off-white head. Aroma is roasty and ashy with the Belgian candy sugar Cingular through. Cross between a quad and a stout. Some chocolate, molasses, roasted malt. Slightly lactic. Mouthfeel is medium full with a smooth middle and a slight burn at the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled at Countryside Saloon. Pours a clear reddish brown color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have some sweet malts, earth tones and spices, mildly tart, wood. Interesting, but not something that I would seek out again.

CBC Session 4. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and dry, modest crispness. Mild dark malts, light and dry. Touch of lactose and a whisper of ester. Not much else here. Dry finish. Dull.
