3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at The Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured a hazy amber, although I’m told my pint was towards the end of the barrel and its normally clearer! There is a thin white head with bags of broken lace. The aroma is big malt leading to a medium to weak bitter flavour with lots of malt and a slightly fruity, smooth palate. A super drinkable session beer which went down very well indeed.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at Hilary Step, Whalley Range, Manchester. Gold with light tan foamy head. Doesn’t smell of much, I picked up a faint whiff of bread and lemon. Flavours are on the light side too but well balanced... there’s malt, bit of pine, orange, some grassiness. I like em hoppier but its a good beer for its type.
