Cask@GBBF2012. Orangeish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is nectar, wheat, some yeast, honey and mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is fruity, floral, toffeeish, wooden and a bit yeasty. Pleasantly balanced.

Cask at GBBF 2012. Pours a hazy golden colour, plenty of spices and hints of orange in the aroma, taste was not to much wheat, but a long dry finish.

Half pint, cask ale at Veritas Ale & Wine Bar in Leeds. Golden body with a wheat haze. White lasting layer. Aroma of wheaty fruits and coriander. Dark wheaty taste together with coriander sweetness and banana yeast. Dry sweet fruity ending. An English version of the style, quite drinkable but not particular successful (11.07.2012).

Cask at GBBF 2012. Suspect this may have not quite have been in top nick having seen other reviews. I thought it was more of a wheat ale than hefe or wit, definitely hefe colour with tan and thick white head, aroma slightly spicy but some bacterial dust, flavour surprisingly bitter (vinegary) for a wheat beer, quite astringent bitter to taste. Not great, if I get some in better form would look at rerating.

Cask conditioned handpump Veritas Leeds 05/07/12. An intriguing wheat beer. The comm description used to say it was hefeweizen stlye but orange peel and coriander are more akin to a Belgian Wit. They’ve now stopped using the hefe word so I’ve changed it to a wit. Having said that there are really hybrid issues as amongst the spiciness of a wit I got a bit of hefe banana. It has orange peel and coriander flavours and is slightly hazy blonde with a bright white head. It has a really great bodt and a welcoming nose. Whatever style it rightfully falls into is probably irrelevant as there’s no denying it’s really tasty and superbly brewed. My first Offbeat beer - hopefully there’ll be many more.

Subtle wheat ale, gentle aroma, cloudy ale but releases a mild weizen taste.

Cask at Middlewich Beer Festival 29/10/2011 Very pale and cloudy, nice orange rind aroma with a hint of cloves in the taste, I voted this to be beer of the festival
