The_Captain (339), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 28, 2008 On tap in the Offshore- Light straw color pour with a small white head, good lacing. Light hop, crisp, and another smooth malt refreshing brew. Nothing outstanding but good drinker, relaxing. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Sep 24, 2007 Draught pint at the brewpub on 9/3/07 Small, quickly fizzling white head tops a clear golden-apricot colored body. Smells of a very strong mineral dominance. Not flawed, but it just seems like the water isn’t well-suited to this light of a beer. Very little malt sweetness, somewhat watery (though nothing unusual for the style) and just full of a strong, somewhat bland mineral flavor and aroma. The water works incredibly well with dark malts, as I found their dry stout and imperial stout exceptional. Add the lack of hop character in this one and it seems very lackluster and not overly fresh or crisp tasting/smelling. Not flawed though (no diacetyl, acetyldehyde, phenols, etc...), just a bit off-putting to me on account of the water. Low aroma and flavor strength, very light body, medium amounts of carbonation with a loose texture. DaveB (71), Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA Jun 13, 2007 On tap at the Offshore Ale Company. Gold color, medium head that quickly disappeared. Light citrus aroma. Smooth taste no unpleasant aftertaste. Good microbrew ale. Will drink it again when I return to the Vineyard.
