Big white spongy head over a clear golden body. This beer looks more like a Pilsner than a Dopplebock. Aroma of grain and yeast, with orange zest developing as beer warms, but no wood as far as I can tell. Taste of strong grainy note with alcohol present, some orange zest, some oak developing on palate. Palate is woody, which leaves an odd taste on the tongue.

330ml bottle poured into a wine glass, Clear golden color with a small white head. Grainy nose, with hints of wood, pear and grassy hops. Malty flavors with some harshness, medium bitterness, slight fruitiness and alcohol. Med-full body, dry finish, quite interesting and creative.

Draught sample, smallish creamy head, very hazy lemon yellow colour with orange taints, flavour of vanila pod, herbs, wood, paper and calcium oxide, sweet candy flavour with some barrique notes, alcohol strong and upfront. Really dissapointing.

Pours murky golden with white ring. Sweet, malty and a little grainy aroma, but I didn’t smell any wood. Tastes alcoholic and very bitter, a little buttery and a little grainy. Carbonated, sweet, buttery finish, full body.

Bottle sample @ the 3rd Israeli Beer Festival - Beers 2013. Pours an hazy yellow with a medium head, aroma of honey, rubber and wine, flavor of wine, honey, red wine, wood, malt and bubblegum, medium bodied, more of an heller bock

Draught sample at "Beers 2013". Cloudy yellow. Malty grainy aroma with notes of noble hops and a bit of alcohol. Sweet alcoholic flavor with malt, a hint of wood, graininess, light fruitiness and a somewhat herbal bitter finish. Medium-bodied, over-carbonated. Worst release of Golan Brewery so far.
