Draft at Oggis Point Loma. Pours very dark brown with a thin, beige head. Tastes like burnt malt, burnt toast, a little bit of sweet chocolate, and some dark coffee. Light body and low/medium carbonation. Smells like burnt toast, burnt malt, some dark chocolate, and some burnt coffee.

Disneylandish. Slammed this because we had to leave and I found the need to stuff in an extra pint. Also cuz it was average and required no thought but ’consume’. Roast, choco, bit o’ coffee, slight ashy thing, sweetness close to licorice but not close enough. Off to find any shitty store that sells liquor and without doubt will carry a small selection of eye opening craft at prices that will make me weep.

On tap at the brewpub. It poured a dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma was of roasted malts, chocolate and a touch of coffee. The taste was of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Very nice.

Tap. Pours deep reddish black, medium tan head, great lacing. Aruba is roasty, bit of ash. Flavor has roasty coffee, a bit of smoke. Medium body, quite nice.

The last beer of the night delivered the experience I was looking for all evening. A filling stout with a sweet edge it is like a bigger bolder version of Guinness done in house. Maybe I should have just skipped the hop driven taps completely.
Aroma / Appearance - A pour the color of deep black coffee sticks to the rim of the glass. Soft mocha head adds a nice edge. Walnuts, almonds, coffee, and black earthy malts provide a smoky presence of a dark alley at night.
Flavor / Palate - Sweet licorice, malts, coffee, and other flavors provide a dry texture. The profile is decent but what makes this work are some of the intangibles. A finish lasts quite a while but this is still easy to drink. Whether you take your time or rush through the pint you’ll experience a well crafted release.

Pours a deep dark brown color with aroma of roasted barley. Taste is of mild coffee with chocolate notes. You can also taste the roasted barley after the swallow. A decent stout, especially for a restaurant craft.
