COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
GOLD METAL 2000 Great American Beer Festival! This light refreshing Cream Ale is brewed for those who enjoy a clean, crisp beer. It uses small amounts of Vienna malt to add body and flavor while preserving the light color. Sterling hops provides just a hint of spice in the aroma. Is now sold in Petco Park, Qualcomm Stadium, and the Del Mar Race Track in plastic bottles.

Part of the sampler at the brewery in Garden grove. Never have been a fan of blondes. Too much of a corn/grain flavor. Not bad, just not my style.

I didn’t have high hopes for Oggi’s but being the closest location to the hotel and having been to Stone World Bistro twice I wanted to do something different. This was good enough that the sample was not hard to finish. However much like the rest of the pours that night it was ultimately a forgettable run of the mill release.

Aroma / Appearance - A golden base retained only a trace of head by the time it got to the table. Light lemons and sweetness provide some character. Overall though it is a low key cream ale that fits in well with the style - forgettable, light, and simple.

Flavor / Palate - Light lemons and custard provide a burst of flavor before this recedes like the outgoing tide. A clean texture is nicely paired with a drinkable body. Ultimately though, like most cream ales, it lacks anything to make it distinctive. If you have to pick just four samples pass on this one.

Somewhat sweet with a lazy, inert flavor profile. It’s empirically diaphanous and sports a white, lacy head. This is a good chugging beer, but if you’re going to break out your leather journal while conducting tasting notes, you’re going to be disappointed (as I am here).

22 jan 2014, tap at Oggis in Fullerton. Yellow, clear, occasional bubbles. Nose is crisp lemon and some straw malt. Med/thin body and mildly fizzy. Lemon citrus and maybe some stale grass. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Plastic bottle at Qualcomm. Pours a gold fluffy white color with bready yeasty taste . Decent flavor and goes well with the crappy pizza ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not much aroma. Very light and tasty beer. What I like best about it is the hop bitterness in the aftertaste

Tap. Light gold pour. Did not get too much from the aroma. Taste is light cereal malt and a slight bitterness. Nice smooth body and lower carbonation.

Enjoyed as part of a sampler at Oggi’s in Garden Grove, CA. Appearance a bright gold with a thin white head. Aroma is different, yeast, not much malt, and cream corn. Taste is exactly like cream corn, buttery and light. I actually like cream corn, not so much in beer form though.

Draft at Apple Valley. Served a clear, pale gold with minimal head. Very little is happening with this brew. Some bread, straw, light floral hops. Slightly sweet, very light body. Pretty forgettable, not sure why they call it a cream ale.

A: The beer pours a clear golden straw color with a fizzy white head and minimal retention. S: Starts off innocently enough with some pale malts and a nice sweetness. A hint of floral hops and a sweet fruitiness to the beer. Then, there comes a strongly vegetal aroma that just ruins the beer. It’s almost like broccoli. T: The vegetable character is there from the start. Bit time grass and vegetable juice flavors. A mild bitterness, green apple, straw, and some moderate malt/grain sweetness. M: Light in body with a moderate level of carbonation. O: I would pass on this should we cross paths again.
