This Double IPA uses premium American 2-row and a touch of light crystal malt to create a mellow malt foundation. Four different hop varieties are used in this beer. It spends one week dry hopping in the fermenter giving it a floral, slightly piney, grapefruit, and citrus aroma. Unlike most double IPAs, this beer shies away from a malty body and starts out with a clean bitterness that finishes off smooth and leaves you wanting more.

Pours a light copper color with a floral aroma. Taste is bitter, with an easy drinkability for the style. Notes of citrus fruit, and piney malt. A decent Imperial IPA.

Draft at the Santee Bluegrass Festival. One of the only IIPAs on the field. That didn’t help it much. some of the single IPAs were better. Deeply hoppy on the nose that faded in the flavor. Sweet malt forward on the tongue. It was good. I could drink it, but I expected more.

Draft. Pours a deeper orangish gold, with a white head. Some sweet and toffee malty notes, light fruity hops, and a light bitterness. Not bad, but not a very good IPA.

On tap at Disneyland area locale. Guzzled after dragging my 80 yr old dad on a 30 minute stroll so I could drink with my children. Dude is a freakin’ tooper. Grapefruit, random other citrus blend, pine, smooth malt base. Lacks complexity. Meh. Our waitress needs to hit the treadmill. A lot.

Pours a amber-orange with a thin off white head with just a little lacing. Arona is of citrus, pine, sweet malts, caramel, and light tropical fruits. Taste is about the same as the arona. Has a medium body with a semi watery mouthfeel with a moderately bitter, medium-long finish. Overall, a deccent DIPA.
