An American Classic. This well balanced pale ale uses Centennial hops for bittering with Crystal and Cascade hops for aroma. Domestic crystal malts give the beer color and light Caramel flavor. Taste a bit of paradise for yourself!

On tap at the brewpub. It poured a clear copper color with a white head. The aroma was of citrus and pine hops. The taste was similar with caramel and citrus hops with a bitter hop finish. Nice.

A completely milquetoast pale ale. The adjustment of hops feels muzzled and the nose is near-absent. The appearance is hazy gold with light piping on the head. Best as a filler for a sampler; skip the pint.

Tap. Clear pale amber, medium white head, great lacing. Aroma is faint, but nice, citrus, , pine, mango. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, mango, orange, not harsh. Light body, decent.

Meh. This is a fair to middling pale ale that hints at much more. This felt like par for the course for Oggi’s. As a brewery they would be a fine place if not for so many other world class options just around the corner. Even so I have had plenty of worse beers.

Aroma / Appearance - A caramel foundation supports a thin veil and icy legs. Cream, vanilla, and low key malts contrast with fresh earthy hops. The overall profile is middling to below average.

Flavor / Palate - Creamy vanilla yogurt tickles the senses. After a few seconds it morphs into a mixture of malts and clean noble hops. The bitter finish of fresh brewed iced tea lasts for only a fleeting moment. In other parts of the country this would be normal. For southern California it sinks to the bottom of a crowded field.

18 jan 2014, tap at Oggis in Fullerton. Light gold, clear, no bubbles. Nose is pine and lemon hops. Odd body for an American pale ale. Reminds me of British cask ale, just slightly fizzier. Medium-ish body and faintly fizzy. Lemon rind and cereal malt with some bitter finish. Mediocre. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Part of the sampler at the brewery near Disneyland. This was probably my least favorite of the bunch. The palate was all over the place and there wasn’t much hop to it. It left me with a strange aftertaste. Probably won’t try this one again.

Draught at Craft Heads. Cloudy ass with a fine head. Dirty looking. Dirty hop nose, catpiss, not so good. Again dirty hop flavor, a bit raunchy, with nice hops but not balanced or refined. Very bitter finish. Disappointing.

Poured from a draft into a pint glass at Oggi’s in Santee, Calif. About a finger of head when I got it. Color was on the brighter side of orange. Light white lacing on the top. Hardly any film on the sides of the glass. Smelled typical pale ale notes, albeit light. Bread, grass and grainy. Also some light lemon citrus hops at the very end. Taste was similar to the nose with bread, grass, lemon citrus hops and some grains coming in there. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Pretty average taste overall. Medium body. Watery texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. Just an average pale ale overall. There are plenty of better beers on the market. Skip it.
