On draft at Clock Tower Cellar (Mammoth Lakes, CA): Pours out bronze with a thick off-white head. Nose of strong, syrupy caramel malts, thick florals, and light hits of grapefruit. Chewy and thick flavors of caramel malts, doughy, and lots of earthworm/grassy characteristics.. Drinkability: Syrupy, juicy and gum-like. Weighed down, hoppy mouthfeel. Pairing: Blue cheese. Rebuy: No. #426 on 26042010 "426 on 4/26", DG.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Vista store. Orangey golden with a bright white head. Aromas were sweet with apricot and citrus. Flavors were less sweet and more bitter. Decent grapefruit bitterness to start, then a different kind of bitterness almost astringent.

On Tap - Oggis Vista: Super nice looking Golden/Amber color. Smells really fruity and spicy. Tastes smooth, with lots of floral hops and a wonderful palate. Another winner from Oggis.

The beer poured a yellowish brown color w/ thin lasting head and lacing. The aroma had big citrus, grapefruits, and a slight malt note. The flavor had grapefruits, oranges, slight malt notes, nice and hoppy. The mouthfeel was bitter, light and well carbonated.

9th Annual San Diego Strong Ale Fest. Clear dark gold pour. Very fruity hop aroma - with a good amount of citrus grapefruit. A good amount of sweet malt backing, with tons of that fruity hop character. Full bodied, with a good bitter bite to finish.

9th Annual San Diego Strong Ale Fest: Clear dark golden color with a thin off-white head. Big grapefruit and floral aroma. Huge hop flavor. Actually, and I can’t believe I am saying this, too much hop flavor. Almost like I would have to work on drinking a lot of it.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2006 Rating #1 Tap @ Toronado (7 3 7 3 15). A dark golden color with a laced white head. A good pine hop aroma that was intense and high in grass content. A huge bitter dry hop bite in flavor. Sweet and lasting finish. Not as well balanced as I would like, but it lived up to its name. Rating #2 Tap @ Toronado (7 3 8 4 17). An orange/amber color with a white head. Intensely fruity with a lawnmower grassy finish. The grapefruit and passion fruit flavors come through well. Rich and thick the way I like my IPAs.

[At GABF 2004] A hazy copper colored beer with an orange head. The aroma is very sweet and very hoppy. The flavor is sweet and mostly grassy, but also hoppy, with lots of hop acids. The end is quite dry.
