COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
SILVER METAL 2000 Great American Beer Festival! Big, bold hop flavors define this wonderful India Pale Ale. This is a stronger, hoppier version of a regular pale ale. Loads of Columbus, Cascade, Willamette and Centennial hops are used in this beer that would please any hop-head!

Poured from a draft into a pint glass at Oggis in Santee, Calif. About 1 fingers of head when I got it. Color was honey pale. Bubbly white lacing on the sides that lasted almost the entire pour. Nice amount of uneven film on the sides that lasted throughout the pour. Smelled sweet floral notes. Pretty typical of an IPA. Got some lemon citrus notes, too. Tasted pretty similar to the nose. Got citrus hops, mainly lemon. Lots of caramel malts. Not especially balanced. Medium body. Watery texture. Average carbonation. Smooth finish. Not a bad beer, not a great beer. Somewhere in the middle. Pretty typical. Id probably try it again.

Enjoyed as part of a sampler at Oggis in Garden Grove, CA. Appearance dark amber with not much head. Aroma more of an English IPA, dominated by malts with a light hop backing. Taste brings out more of the citrus elements, the maltiness actually goes away a bit, which is unique. Its decent.

Bomber from Hayduke. We enjoyed this together, he in California and I in Illinois, via facebook chat. This poured hazy and was a bit coppery. A big gushing head was fluffy and light. It lasted too long for my short patience. The nose was pine and pineapple with a bit of caramel. The flavor began with big hops that included pine and tart citrus. Caramel is noted but is almost overwhelmed by the hops. This could be a double IPA with the aggressive hops. They finally numbed my tongue enough to let some caramel in. This grew on me and was a really nice beer. Thanks Ron.

Bottle. Light to moderate roasted and caramel for the malt, moderate pine and grapefruit for the hops, light soap for the yeast with background notes of pineapple, coriander, and paper. Head is large, frothy turning rocky, slightly off-white with fair lacing and is fully lasting. Color is sparkling clear golden amber, but the last pour is muddy amber/tan with some chunky pieces. Flavor starts faintly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, watery with a lively to fizzy carbonation. Some odd but mostly excellent aromas, and the flavors are pretty good though a bit weak. This is still a top notch IPA.

On tap in orange. Sour acidic taste with an after taste just. As bad. Not a good version of an IPA.

Poured a hazy yellow color. Full frothey head. Aroma of citrus pine hops, some sour apple. Med-lite bitter, light sour. Creamy texture, ave carbonation. Too much sourness in this beer. Maybe skunked?

Bomber, rust hue with tan head, carmel malt makes for heavier texture, still hoppy, nice mix of citrus and nector, overall decent balance
