COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
SILVER METAL 2000 Great American Beer Festival! Big, bold hop flavors define this wonderful India Pale Ale. This is a stronger, hoppier version of a regular pale ale. Loads of Columbus, Cascade, Willamette and Centennial hops are used in this beer that would please any hop-head!

Draft @ Oggis Carmel Mountain. Like most of the oggis beers this is nothing special. Good but not great. alight amber colour with a hoppy aftertaste.

Amber orange, moderate head with solid lacing and retention. Aroma is a butterbomb with lesser grapefruit and citrus notes. Medium bodied, moderate to high bitterness. I donít like the diacetyl character in IPAs.

On tap @ Oggis Scottsdale poured a clear copper with a minimal white head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, pine and a hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied. Flavors of carmel, pine, earthiness and a hint of grapefruit with a lingering bitter finish.

22ozzie bottle. Brew pours golden w/ a medium sized, spattered froth. Head dies rapidly leaving only partial lace. Smells like industrial adhesives. Medium full nectar w/ minimal residual effers. Itís hoppy w/ balanced malts. Other than that this brew has a defined bitter celery thing going on that totally turns me off. The finish is bittered accordingly.

Hazy deep gold, moderate white head. Somewhat odd aroma of damp leaf litter and cooked noodles with a hint of lemon (really not a nice aroma). strong reedy/straw malt flavour with a non-specific dry bitter finish. Compared to the cornucopia of fantastic Cali IPAs out there, this one really falls flat.

I taste some coconut in there. Nice aNd hoppy. I have the feeling if I drink a lot of this it would give me a headache. Fortunately this is just a sample.

on tap: way too dry and very bitter...the combination of the two brought a strong bite, making it unenjoyable for me. it also made it hard to determine flavor. i donít know...i expected more, however will give it another tasting.

Bomber. Pours a light amber color with no head or lacing. Nose is light hops and malt. Taste is very dry with a bit of citrus hops and a lingering bitter aftertaste. Iíve had it on tap at Oggiís Scottsdale and donít remember it tasting like this. Maybe I have an old bottle, but itís not one of the better IPAs Iíve had lately. Iíll stick to their Hop Juice.

22 oz bottle. Very pale straw coloured beer with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly spicy and piny. A kiss of citrus (lemon) and a bit of pine. Very hoppy/bitter aroma. Very lean and dry and very, very bitter. It doesn’t have a whole lot of complexity and there is a lot of booziness. Very hot and peppery and a can’t really say that I enjoy it at all.
