Tap at Grillman, Nagoya. Clear amber color, medium-sized creamy white head. Grassy, citrusy aroma. Medium-bodied. Flavor is fruity. Grapefruity front. Light candy. Good bitterness. Very American.

On tap at the GJBF in Osaka 2014. A clear deep copper pour. Big resinous pine hoppy aroma, medium bodied with a sprightly mouthfeel. The taste is fruity pine hop balanced by solid malts, veering on the bitter side but that is perfect for an IPA.

Mild peach, apricot. Cereals, honey, pulpy mango, mild hoppy finish. A bit mild overall but quite drinkable, more fruity than hoppy so a more refreshing choice for the summer

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2014 Rerate at Ushi Tora, Summer 2014. Good stuff, grainy but with lots of bitterness, grapefruit, dry. Full on citrus. After a while graininess takes over. Still nice. Little bit if sweetness. I like it. From the first rating: Tap at Shinshu Sake Mura. Marked as Oh La Ho IPA, but they did also have posters up for the Rydeen, so who knows? Light amber colour, off white thick head. Aroma is very hoppy, lots of pine, citrus, something slightly stinky or twiggy. Bready maltiness.Taste is nice, bitter, more malt than hop, slight spice prickle. Twigs again, but just enough hoppiness too. Spicy bite. Haven’t had many IPAs like this in Japan, so interesting, but personally probably would prefer more fruitiness. Solid though.

Draught at Kamikaze. Citrus nose, grapefruit and orange. Dark gold, clear, with a light head. Flavors of orange, grass, cream. Rather sweet but has a nice bitterness as well. Peppery, with sweet orange and a bit of grapefruit. Very drinkable. Nice body—rich but light. Good beer.

5%. Perfect summer quencher. Soft malt and hops - great balance. Caramel, a sprig of toffee and some light citrus hops. As good a APA as you will get.
