3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle from Sainsburys, 25th Jan 2007. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a small head and some carbonation. The aorma is very hoppy with citrus fruits in there too. The favour is along the same lines and the finish is decent enough. Tasty, tangy beer but the bitterness is a bit unrefined.

Bottled. Slightly foggy amber colour, sporting a large, thick, crusty and persistent beige head. Bitter hop aroma, that is sharp and refreshing. Good bitter zing to it.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a murky brown with little head. Fairly standard bottled bitter but with a harsh sour finish. Fails to capture the delicacy of a good bitter.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Excellent beer. Nice clear mahogany brew (Iíve refrained from dumping in the sediment at this point, but I will add it in later) that produced a dissapointing small tan crown that lives on as a ring only with very little spotty lacing. The aroma is just awsome. Orangy citrus, raisins, caramelly malts are the biggest contributors but cherries, licorice and pine (early on) exist as well. There is a powderiness to the aroma, but I really donít care. Taste is quite good as well with fruity citrus hops, candy of some sort (itís just some unknown sweetness, really), raisins, slight caramel, noticable and lasting mild to medium strengthed bitterness, pine and malts everywhere. Totally complex for aroma and taste. Mouthfeel is really good as it changes thoughout the sip. Adequate carbonation, smooth and nice lasting bitterness. One of the best and unique beers that Iíve had in a long time without having over-the-top added ingredients that dominate or give the beer a signature obvious flavour or aroma. Highly drinkable due to the lack of overpowering spices, which I had expected as this is a seasonal beer but was very glad to not find.
