Rich dark - very dark - brown. Hints toward dark malt in the aroma, and they are actualised in the taste. Slight sourness in the taste, maybe a duff barrel. YK23 (253), Haifa, Israel Sep 20, 2007 Bottle: a really nice stout which i’m drinking right now, pretty mild, soft malty roastiness, some hoppy bitterness, a little fruity, some vinous notes, coffee, some bitter chocolaty notes, medium bodied. again, a good beer. thoramel (39), USA Sep 17, 2007 A very deep amber color with a foamy head that dissaoears quick. Smells like alcohol and coffee. The taste is somewhat dry malts and a lttle bit on the bitter side. As it warmed I could taste a hint of wood. Oily finish. thewolf (5635), Kolding, Denmark Sep 10, 2007 Cask @ OL i Aarhus. Pours a deep red - almost black. No head at all. Aroma is slightly smoky, some coffe and chocolate. Very low carbonation and thus, oily mouthfeel. Flavours are limited at first, and only hit me properly in the aftertaste. Some smoke, chocolate, but mostly coffee. Okay, but nothing spectacular. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 9, 2007 Updated: Mar 18, 2008From cask@OLiAarhus, Cockney stand. Pours deep dark brown almost black with a completely gone head. Chocolate and slight roasted malt aroma. Coffee bitter flavour with a touch of caramel into the finish.6-3-6-3-12=3.1
From cask at Charlies. Pours dark brown with a minimal reddish hue and a lacing brown head. Light coffee and roasted malt aroma. Roasted and bitter flavour, mild malt flavour. Finish holds a mild roated note and a slowly growing bitterness.6-3-6-3-13=3.1 mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Sep 3, 2007 Bottle from Hi-Time Wine. Pours a very dark amber/ruby color.
