| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2007 Cask Jet-black beer with a B.C."H.". Slight-sweet, some typical porter-roasted notes, but especially a fry or a roast piece of meat... Ink-like, but sweet taste, with a slight moccha-like finish. Warming up, some fruity-estery noes. Medium bodied, quite slick. Must have been a very Scottish dash of Portwine. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The aroma is mostly toffee malt and toasty caramel along with some nuttiness. Some roast coffee bitterness, sour malt, and nutty bread. Almost like a dunkel of sorts.

Interesting aroma - fairly malty/roasty with notes of coffee and smoke, and a tinge of sour fruit. Body is on the thin side - decent for an ale, but light for a stout. Flavour follows on the aroma - sweet roasty notes of the top, some mild smoke and coffee, and a dry, sourish finish. Pretty neat little beer. tomthompson89 (1473), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours clear, brown with fizzy smallish top, fine lacing.
Aroma- Good roasted character, softened by smooth creamy touch, milky mocha like.6+
Medium thin body, roasted character prevails. Drinkable ale with a bit short living flavoring. Roasted malts but flat in execution. Juice it up , give some live would be good for this ale. 5+

Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and chocolate, bit hoppy dry finish. Tasty good stout indeed. dmradus (225), State College, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Pours a dark brown with a thin light brown lacing of a head. Caramel and chocolate in the nose, with the port addition ringing through with an enjoyable non-malt sweetness. Taste is upfront roast malt, coffee, very slight bitter and finishes with a sour or acidic note - perhaps this is where the port is coming through in the taste, and if so - could be done better. Fairly thick on the tongue; little carbonation.
