Its printed as 05/31/2005. Today, the day I’m drinking it, is 02/05/2006. Not good perhaps? We’ll see. Pours a deep dark color with a light creamy head of good volume. Smells like dry red wine and malty stout. Still pretty good. Has distinct dry red wine tastes but is predominantely stout. For what they are shooting for, I’d say they aren’t far off the mark. Perhaps this should be classified as a Dry Stout though. Just a thought. Bang for the buck of stuff in the same store, when I’ve tried them all, I’d choose a Young’s Dbl Choc over this. larsga (2959), Oslo, Norway

Dark color, brownish head.
Mice fruity scent and an unusual flavor. Might have been a bit of Port flavor, but it could have been my mind from reading the bottle, wasn’t a clear such anyway. 7/3/7/3//12=3.2
Second rating March 10, 2007. Bottle at Delirium Café, Göteborg. Light soft sweet scent, yeast particles darm red-brown color, small tan head. Spritzy sweet taste with some chocolate aftertaste. Slightly hollow roast aroma like my attempts at the style without the addition of chalk. Hints of nuts and vague port, with a touch of yeast. Subtle curranty flavour before a big, ashy, dry, roasty, quinine-like finish. Fairly hop-bitter too. Nice creamy palate. I’m digging dry stouts at the moment and I dug this one good.
