Commercial Description:
In the winter of 1996 we were inspired by an Irish tradition for a morning after 'corpse-reviver' - a splash of Port in your stout! The inspired blending of Rich Ruby Port with O'Hanlon's award-winning stout has created a unique and original masterpiece of craft brewing.

Poured this very slowly into my glass so as to keep the large head to a manageable size. Deep ruby body that almost looks black, light tan head and some rings of lacing. Nose of toasted malt and coffee. Thin body makes this fairly easy to drink, no real guts to it, just a splash of port!, some coffee and liquorice notes and a good dry finish. I like it but I have had a few better straightforward stouts.

Cask handpull at The Three Greyhounds, London Xmas Pub Crawl. Deep rich stout with lots of fruit. Rich, thick and gorgeous. Dry grainy finish. One of the best stouts I’ve had. Some very good sour notes and good dark fruits too. It just has everything you would want and mixes them together so well. Beer of the day for me.

RLB YEHA 05. Slightly harsh strong wine-like aroma with some fruitiness, light sulfur and rich port-like qualities. Flavor is lightly chocolate malt, with some roast but followed by an acidic wine quality. Weak watery body and a slightly harsh finish.

NJ,Pocono,Philly Yeha. Aroma nice malted mixture definite port like qualities. Pour was black with a huge tan head. Flavor was interesting the coffee and port mixture really pushed toward a smoked porter. Palate was ok, but for a stout a little thin. Overall not bad.

Thanks to alobar for bringing and sharing this at the Yeha. Poured blqck with a large tan head. Strange aroma of coffee and red wine. Flavor is mostly coffee with a bit of dryness, with much less wine character than the aroma. Rather thin bodied for a stout.

Poured a dark, dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and a little bit smoky. Tasets of roasted malts, coffee, smoke and some coffee. I didn’t get any of the port in either the aromas or tastes.

Tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma of port. Dark, alomost balck color with reddish highlights around the rim. Tastes of coffee, some wood, and malts. A bit dry and missign some body for a stout. Did not taste the Port. However, a great idea for a beer.
