Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 14, 2005 NJ,Pocono,Philly Yeha. Aroma nice malted mixture definite port like qualities. Pour was black with a huge tan head. Flavor was interesting the coffee and port mixture really pushed toward a smoked porter. Palate was ok, but for a stout a little thin. Overall not bad. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Dec 12, 2005 Pours black with a burnt nose.Aromas of malt and coffee.Tatses of a bit chocolate with that burntness, but i didnt get the port flavor at all. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Dec 11, 2005 Thanks to alobar for bringing and sharing this at the Yeha. Poured blqck with a large tan head. Strange aroma of coffee and red wine. Flavor is mostly coffee with a bit of dryness, with much less wine character than the aroma. Rather thin bodied for a stout. hopdog (5535), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 11, 2005 Poured a dark, dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and a little bit smoky. Tasets of roasted malts, coffee, smoke and some coffee. I didn’t get any of the port in either the aromas or tastes. alobar (1006), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 11, 2005 Tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma of port. Dark, alomost balck color with reddish highlights around the rim. Tastes of coffee, some wood, and malts. A bit dry and missign some body for a stout. Did not taste the Port. However, a great idea for a beer. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 11, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Very dark brown - but not black - with a thick, light brown head - sort of shaving foam style - leaving lumpy traces in my glass. Very dry body with notes of smoked, hard roasted malts. Bitter finish. But I’m not really sure I detect the added Ferreira Port. 100402 DuffMan (2723), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Dec 10, 2005 Wow, the idea behind this beer is genius! Port and stout I think were meant to go to bed together. This beer looks fantastic-- deep ruby brown with a crazy beige head that collapses into funky shapes. Terrific nose of black cherries, smoky wood, and coffee. Rich flavours of darkly roasted malt, charred cedar, ash, and sweet plummy port. Rather thin in the body, but full of flavour and absolutely delicious. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA Nov 30, 2005 Updated: Mar 2, 2006Pours black with a red tint. Fruity and roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt with a hint of cherry? but not much port in the taste. Still, a nice and interesting beer.
