Beers of europe. I really didnt know what to expect here, i had visions of a sweet stout with good bitterness too, however its well mmmm. Aroma is grassy hops with black coffee, and dryness. Taste is a sort of coffee chocolate, with a very long dry finish, your mouth is actually fully dryed out. I assume this is dur to the port, but there isnt much in the way of fruitiness which i wanted. Not bad all the same and if they do this on cask id imagine its quite good.

This one had some age on it, and I didnt expect that to really damage it too bad, but it seemed like it may have. I tried to rate accordingly. Pours out an easy black medium head. Aroma of port wine, malt, chocolate, licorice as well. Flavor was a strange bitter, maybe the port, kind of sweet and sour, the latter unexpected. Even during its prime, I cant imagine this beer being much better than a high 2.

Pours a black color with ruby highlights and a thick, frothy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and port wine. Flavor of mild roasted malt with chocolate and port wine with a bitter finish. Medium body with a dry and creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Black/dark brown, ruby hues-bubbly off white head-small bits of yeast floating in suspended animation-looks like a still photo of a beer. Aroma-roasty, burnt chocoffee, malt, port, touch of yeast. Same flavor with nice hints of port in finish and aftertaste. Full, creamy body with the right amount of carbonation. Very good.

Bottle. Pours a rich brown/black. Aroma is eerily reminiscent of a Belgian white, with sharp hints of citrus and yeast. A slight coriander seems to be lingering in the back of the nose. Head is beautiful and full and it provides intricate lacing around the glass. Smokey flavor, with a dry malt taste and hollow hops. In fact, this beer could be accused of being a smoked beer. I’m liking this beer even though it doesn’t taste as advertised. Palate is a tad watery, but one hardly notices since the flavors are the main focus here. Grab one if you can..

I don’t get much aroma here. Some very mild roasted barley malt is all. Deep black with a VERY lively tan head. Mildly roasty, but the intensity is very low. Almost no flavor here. Very dissapointed with this. I bought this and a stout called Kinmount Willie at the same time. I figured this would shine and the Willie would be mediocre, but it was the exact opposite.

Bottled. Incredible sherry aroma, lots of oak, vanilla. Leather, chocolate, chewing tobacco and peat. Palate dings for excessive fizziness and then going watery - needs more mouth. Started spectacularly, finished moderately. Still very good.
