[500ml bottle from Tesco, Exeter] Black, slight beige head, slight fizz. Smooth mouthfeel with black coffee and some smoke. The port brings in some fruitiness behind, but also leaves a sticky mouthfeel, which the dry, bitter finish fails to cut through. Not bad, but could be better.

The port flavor was nicely subtle and let the beer assemble in your mouth. I enjoyed this as an after dinner drink, but it could be enjoyed anytime.

Bottle at Haket, Göteborg pours dark reddish with thin creamy off white head. Aroma is caramel, grains, malts, fresh fruits. Taste, cherry, raisins add for a light wine like mouthfeel, smooth and easy to drink, finish with a light touch of tartness.

The beer was as dark brown as you can go without turning black. Brown bubbly crown with good retention and leaves some spotty / ropy lacing. The aroma is quite appealing with sweet berry candy being the most defined followed by a slight roast, faint chocolate and caramel - also an odd smoke that is not your typical ’smoky’ aroma (I need to open another one down the road to see if I can nail that down better). The taste is pretty good with the sweetness hitting first, the middle consisting of roasted malts, portish flavour (definetly not a Tawny), very weak chocolate and a larger than expected piney hop content. The flavour finishes with coffee undertones early on in the glass. Full bodied. Very smooth mouthfeel, tangy middle and enough piney bitterness to not ruin it. Leaves the mouth feeling happy....leaves the mouth feeling very dry after I poured the bottom of the bottle in my glass while being careful not to disturb the sediment on the bottom (I don’t do that too often). Excellent beer.

A corker of a stout. The port does smooth out some of the rough edges. Very drinkable and a good winter warmer.

Brew pours dark, dark brown with a massive crown floating on top in my glass I have five inches of beer and 5 inches of head the at the very top is shaped like a nipple, this brew gets a bounce point for looking like a nipple. Aroma is ok nothing great comprised of mild hops that remind me of celery lots of darker smelling malts, a touch of coffee, and a strange sent what I will only call “green smoke” (if you catch my drift) aroma is very mild but is pleasing. My god this is a very tasty stout!! Rich tasting slightly bitter coffee, all kinds of spices are being detected in the flavor but I can’t seem to but my finger on what any of them are, a very nice fruitiness is in the back of the taste is this the port they added? The malt character is very rich and seems to give the beer a burnt character , so tasty. Dam tasty high quality brew, this is very well crafted and unique but still remains in the true style of a stout.
