Commercial Description:
In the winter of 1996 we were inspired by an Irish tradition for a morning after 'corpse-reviver' - a splash of Port in your stout! The inspired blending of Rich Ruby Port with O'Hanlon's award-winning stout has created a unique and original masterpiece of craft brewing.

A pitch black beer with a fine head. It has a nice aroma of smoked malt with hints of liqurice. The flavor is a very filling stout flavor with a strong smoked taste. A very fine stout.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very dark brown - but not black - with a thick, light brown head - sort of shaving foam style - leaving lumpy traces in my glass. Very dry body with notes of smoked, hard roasted malts. Bitter finish. But I’m not really sure I detect the added Ferreira Port. 100402

OK head, large bubbles, not too stable. Sweet liquorice smell. Light body. Thin, disappointing taste.

Bottled. Dark brown coloured with a beige head. Aroma of dish washer and herbs with roasted notes. Roasted flavour with notes of soap and coffee. Dry finish of coffee. Unfortunately I can’t detect the added port - if the brewers have to add any foreign ingredients to their beers, then done so it can be detected. This one is waste of port and beer !
