A sweet stout, with more the former rather than the latter, but it is very black as you would expect. No head with a sweet aroma.

Cask at the William Webb Ellis (JDW), Twickenham, 16/02/13.
First beer of the day we finally beat the crowd stealers (Tigerscum) at the Stoop for the first time in 10 years - happy days ... I digress.
Very dark mahogony brown with a frothy tan head that retains well.
Nose carries roast malt, barley, sugars, molasses, subtle berry fruit.
Taste comprises dark toffee, dark malt, wood, nutty tones, berry fruits.
Medium in body with soft carbonation, dry in the finish.
Ok stout - nowt too special!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fairly standard stout - looks great, roasted malt dominates with some hint of coffee, and then you get a hint of port coming through in the finish. Could probably have stronger flavours and be better, but still a good and enjoyable beer.
