3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 TaxiDriver (1394) - Stadland, GERMANY - MAY 5, 2010
Bottle. The smell of dark malt, chocolate, quite bitter. The head is small, creamy and beige. The body is black. The taste is rather bitter, dry with a bitter finish. The body is dry and creamy, light to medium strong with a lively carbonation.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Brix (633) - DENMARK - APR 15, 2010
Tasted 2010-04-15. Pours clear, dark red/brown with beige head. Aroma of chocolate and ruby port. I’m not really sure I would have noticed the port if it hadn’t been printed on the label. Makes me wonder if it’s just placebo. I should put this in a blind some time. Flavours are decent; a little acidic, sweet, moderately bitter. It ends rather abrubtly though, which is weird and not to my liking. Definately a above average beer though, and being a big port man, the concept is interesting.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rand (1000) - SWITZERLAND - APR 9, 2010
Bottle 50 cl from Cask & Glass in Tonbridge (Kent). Ale black with garnet highlights, beige foam delicate. In the nose, the ascendancy of the usual roasted malt, torrefied, nuances of fruits, mineral and metallic. Same story in the mouth, roasted malt, dry, bitter, with vinous traces of porto and cherry. The end persists in the dought and hoppy bitterness.

i think dak brought this shit out for a tick on 1/25/2010.
pours nice... red shade of black with a rocky tan head.
it all goes downhill from there...
it smells like mineral water, smoke and bandaids with a touch of raisin-y fruit.
it feels watery on the palate and quite thin.
tastes like smoke and grain with some sourness... dak says it tastes like cadaver’s assholes... whatever that means.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Threepwood (107) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 26, 2010
Big foamy head, over carbed or perhaps something wrong with the bottle? Dark malt on the nose with a little fruit. Roasty malt flavours and with lots of bitterness, port flavours notable on first taste but fades quickly becoming un-noticeable .

Dark pour with a foamy head. Aroma and flavor are limited. A bit of coffee and fruit and not much else. Just okay. Thanks for the tic, Dak!

Bottle. Pours an opaque black in color with a slight ruby hue. Standard roasted coffee notes, sweet berries in the back end. There is a bit of a bitter note in the finish that wasn’t totally pleasant. If it finished a bit rounder and sweeter, it would have been better. All around, not bad though.

This was all daknole’s fault. Pours a thin coffee color with a trim beige head. Smells malty -- almost sour, actually. Tastes of cherry sucrets and grass. Gross.
